Recap / Simple Samosa Episode 56 Kasturi Khushbu

Go To

Samosa is sleeping one night when a pleasant fragrance enters his bedroom and catches his interest. The next day, he goes on a trip around the world to find where the smell came from.

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Alliterative Title: "Kasturi Khushbu" (which translates to "Musk Fragrance" in English) repeats the letter "K".
  • Cartoon Cheese: Samosa, in his endeavour to find that fragrance, goes to a shower inhabited by a bunch of orange and yellow cheese men. Samosa eventually gets uncomfortable with it and leaves.
  • Follow Your Nose: At the beginning of the episode, Samosa floats upwards into the air as he sniffs the pleasant aroma. He's under a sort of cage that gets pushed upwards with him. Then his doorbell rings and he crashes to the floor.
  • Gainax Ending: As if Samosa sniffing people around the world wasn't weird enough, the episode ends with Samosa giving a speech at a United Nations meeting about how the smells he smelled have inspired him, and that he'd like to experience that one aroma he was after again. This culminates in the UN representatives creating a collective fart... and guess what? Not only is it the smell Samosa was after, the excess of gas somehow causes him to end up outside on the grass, almost completely naked. His friends find him, he smiles after he sniffs his own fart, and Jalebi says that he didn't need to spend so much effort searching out a smell that was actually quite easy to find.
  • It Was with You All Along: Jalebi's comment at the end of the episode implies the smell Samosa was looking for was his own fart.
  • Sistine Steal: As the UN meeting's attendees all fart simultaneously, one stream of Visible Odor somehow has a big hand that touches Samosa's fingertip in a style reminiscent of the famous Sistine Chapel painting.
  • Toilet Humor: The episode ends with Samosa being enveloped in a boatload of farts that turns out to be the fragrance he went out of his way to locate in the first place.
  • World Tour: An... interesting version. Samosa goes to locales such as Korea and Italy to find his smell.
