The Kibaoni Army Corps are on the rise once more, after what is believed 444 years after Kibaoni Gengetsu's defeat and revival into a Youkai. It is up to the 5 grandchildren of the Last Ninja, Yoshitaka Igasaki, to stand up against the Kibaoni forces and bring love and peace to Japan and the world.
- All Your Base Are Belong to Us: In The Teaser, Takaharu returns to the Igasaki Ninjutsu Dojo but it quickly gets blown up by the Hitokarage.
- Batman Gambit: Kyuemon, the white fox mask Youkai, used the Hitokarage as obvious bait for Takaharu to take, while she steals a hammer in the ruins of the Dojo, with no one the wiser.
- Banana Peel: Fuuka slips on one in her first battle, much to her irritation.
- Bait-and-Switch: Kasumi. "Shuriken Ninpo: ... It's actually a pitfall."
- Destination Defenestration: The poor Mook Nagi threw off of a tanker.

- Not What It Looks Like: Fuuka comes home to see Takaharu standing outside the burned out wreck of their houseWhat did you do?
- Refusal of the Call: A rarity for the franchise, a majority vote of the Rangers initially declined to become heroes for their various reasons: Kasumi's in college, Yakumo's still got his classes in England, Nagi only knows the basics and not very confident in his skills, and Fuuka just doesn't believe.
- Spectacular Spinning: Both times Takaharu activated the finisher on the Ichibantou, he's spinning like a top right before the "Ninja Issen!" part.
- Throwing Your Sword Always Works: At the beginning, Takaharu throws his Ichibantou Katana at an random Hitokarage, stabbing it right in the chest. Curiously enough, when he goes to pick up the weapon, the sword is still stuck in the ground, but there's no body.
- Youkai: This season's Monster of the Week, starting out with a Kamaitachi.
