Go To

Jerry and Elaine agree to be godparents to a couple's new baby and hire a mohel to help with the circumcision. George tries to get the hospital to pay for his car after a suicide jumper lands on top of it. Kramer finds what he thinks is a pig-man in the hospital and attempts to rescue him

Tropes

  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: In spite of his obnoxious personality, the mohel does circumcise the baby fine, though he does end up nicking Jerry's hand (who he blames on Jerry's flinching).
  • Door-Closes Ending: The episode ends this way, parodying that of "The Godfather".
  • Get Out!: Mrs. Sweedler, the hospital administrator, screams to George to get out of her office when he tries to get compensation for his car that was destroyed by the jumping patient landing on the roof.
  • Jerkass: The mohel is high-strung, irritable and quite obnoxious.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: George is right on how the hospital should help compensate for the damages to his car after the suicide jumper.
  • Pig Man: When Kramer stumbles in the the wrong hospital room, he finds what he thinks is a pig man and attempts to rescue him and it turns out he was a mental patient with pig-like features.
  • Shout-Out:
    • To The Godfather, with Jerry doing an impression of Marlon Brando, with Elaine not being impressed. Kramer does the same after being Jerry and Elaine's replacement as the baby's godfather and the episode ends with a parody of the Door-Closes Ending of the film with Stan shutting the door on Jerry, Elaine, and George.
    • Pig Man is a reference to the scene in O Lucky Man! where Mick Travis discovers a half man/half pig in a hopsital.
  • Suddenly Shouting: The mohel does this a lot.
  • Suicide as Comedy: A patient jumps off to his death below and lands on George's car, much to the latter's chagrin.
  • Think of the Children!: Kramer is staunchly against the circumcision, to the point he tries to run off with the baby during the bris. Though it works out in his favor in the end when Myra and Stan strip Jerry and Elaine of the godparent duties and replace them in favor of Kramer, due to him showing concern for the baby.
