Recap / Sealab 2021 S 4 E 3 Green Fever

Go To

The de facto zombie episode

A man named Archie is ranting outside the reactor room. Inside, Debbie is calling Hesh to specifically tell him he's not invited to her 30th birthday party, and that she called to tell him that cause if she didn't specifically say he wasn't invited he might show up. Archie enters the reactor room and starts smashing things with a hammer.

In the infirmary, Archie is strapped down and now has green skin. As Quinn and Virjay discuss what this disease could be, the top of Archie's head blows up and he dies. Quinn finds out that the disease can be spread by the infected biting people, and that there are other victims, meaning it's an epidemic. Virjay is unaffected, however, because he secretes a poison.

Quinn calls a senator to report on this disease, only to find out that not only does the government know about the disease, which they call green fever, but they deliberately sent people down to Sealab to trigger it so it can be studied.

Debbie comes in declaring an emergency, but Quinn's not amused when her 'emergency' is that she still doesn't have a theme for her party. Debbie doesn't care about the green fever, saying none of the infected were invited anyway.

Sparks and Stormy are driving around wielding pipes to bash the skulls of the infected with. They end up stopping to gush about the pipes, which Sparks found in pipe storage. Hesh appears and concurs that the pipes are kickass.

Quinn yells at Shanks that they are not putting the infected in concentration camps cause that makes them no better than Nazis. Shanks tries to justify it by saying the United States did it too, but Quinn points out that the Japanese internment was a moment of shame for the country. Besides, they can start making souvenirs for Shanks. He's got tons of coconuts to spare anyway. Debbie comes in and rejoices cause she now has a party theme after seeing the coconuts.

Sparks, Stormy, and Hesh are still gushing about the pipes. Meanwhile, Quinn is outraged to find out that Virjay is leaving to go to an event. Quinn argues that they need to find a cure or at least contain it, but Virjay says it'd be futile and tells him to convince the infected to go outside and drown.

Quinn attacks the infected with a shotgun and cries for help. He also shoots Dolphin Boy for the hell of it, even though Dolphin Boy is not infected. Sparks, Hesh and Stormy hear Quinn's cries for help, but Sparks and Stormy don't want to get brains on their pipes.

At Debbie's party, Shanks feels uncomfortable because going without a shirt makes him feel chubby, but Debbie assures him that it's endearing. Quinn enters in a panic because the infected are everywhere, but Debbie only cares that they'll drive her guests away. Meanwhile, Sparks remembers about Debbie's party and they offer Hesh a ride. Hesh tells them he wasn't invited, only to find out Debbie invited everyone but him.

Debbie demands that Quinn call the police or coast guard to take the infected away, but it's not their job. When Debbie learns the infected will die, she just hopes they hurry up and die before her guests show. Sparks and Stormy arrive and inform them that there's a pile of bodies outside. As Shanks goes to remove them, Quinn asks how Debbie could be so selfish, to which she replies how often does she turn thirty? Quinn retorts that according to her license, five times. It's then that Debbie learns that Stormy and Sparks tried to sneak Hesh into the part and in anger kicks all four of them out, Hesh for being Hesh, Stormy and Sparks for sneaking him in, and Quinn for looking through her purse and revealing she's actually 35.

Shanks tells Debbie that everyone's dead and Debbie declares it her worst 30th birthday ever. Shanks tries to cheer her up by giving her a souvenir, to which she growls that she has no use for it.

The Stinger: Shanks doing a hula.
