Turk convinces J.D. that he needs to go to Tacoma for Kim's first ultra sound — which results in an impromptu road trip for the Sacred Heart crew. After commandeering Dr. Kelso's new RV Eliot, Carla, Keith, Ted and the Janitor join the father to be on his journey. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox and Jordan face some concern when her ultrasound reveals that their unborn child will need to have surgery.
- Bittersweet Ending: Cox learns his daughter has a heart problem that will continue to need surgery going forward, but he learns he's going to have a little girl. Meanwhile, JD learns Kim has had a miscarriage.
- Call-Back: The ringtone on Turk's phone is "Guy Love" from "My Musical".
- Family of Choice: JD sends everyone else home when he learns that Cox needs support. He goes on to Kim's ultrasound alone.
- Got Me Doing It: Dr. Cox insists using the word "Dorian", J.D.'s last name, in place of "wrong". It somehow catches on, as Carla uses it, and after Cox gets "man checked", Turk asks if he can't make that his fault, J.D. says it's "Dorian! Aw, dammit, now I'm doin' it!"
- Groin Attack: After Turk tells Jordan that Cox revealed she wants to cuddle now, she teaches Jack to punch him in the balls with a "Man check!".
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Cox skids Turk's cell phone down the hall, bounces it off Beardfacé's foot, into an elevator.
- Oh, Crap!: "Uh oh? Don't say uh oh! Follow him! He said 'Uh oh'!"
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Cox immediately demands that Turk be the one to do his daughter's neonatal surgery because he wants someone he trusts in the room.
- Running Gag: Someone making the "ring the bell" motion and the RV's horn is heard.
