Flipping the script, one kiss at a time.
A documentary gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life. While investigating Scott’s whereabouts, Ramona gets roped into the production as a stunt double.
  • All for Nothing: The movie ends up being shelved thanks to both Wallace's fling with Todd and Matthew's mass firing of Torontowood Studios because he sees the movie as an assassination of his character. Granted, the project was already over budget after only shooting a few scenes.
  • All Part of the Show: Envy forces Ramona to fight off Wallace's stunt doubles for her. At first, Ramona thinks that it's just another stunt sequence for the movie.
  • As Himself: In-Universe.
    • Wallace ends up playing as himself after his actor is cast out last episode.
    • Ramona is hired to be a stunt double for… herself (the "character" of Ramona is played by Envy instead).
  • The Cameo:
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Envy and Todd are revealed to have dated each other since they were 11, and respectively dated Scott and Ramona during periods of separation.
  • Closet Key: Wallace for Todd, who falls madly in love with him during production.
  • Deface of the Moon: Todd punching a hole in the moon for both Ramona and Envy is brought up. Envy found it romantic, while Ramona found it horrifying.
  • Documentary Episode: The episode is framed as a fake documentary for the film, complete with "behind-the-scenes footage" and character interviews.
  • Flat "What": The Documentarian's reaction to Ramona explaining that she's only a stunt double for her character on the movie because she needed some way to remain on set while she investigates whether Todd was involved in kidnapping Scott through a vegan portal and faking his death.
  • Framing Device: The episode is framed through a documentary recording how the production of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life was a Troubled Production.
  • Hypocrite: Todd insists that Vegans are incredibly loyal and never waver from a relationship, but his attraction to Wallace changes things. He later attempts a Verbal Backspace, insisting that Vegans never "wafer", as in never eating wafers.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Ramona tells Matthew that a "Vegan Portal" pulled Scott away from their fight, so Matthew never [officially] won.
    • Matthew tells Ramona that he overthrew Gideon and took over his entire empire, as well as the League. He also mentions that Gideon's real name is Gordon, and that he's currently shacking up with Julie.
  • Interactive Narrator: Apparently the documentary crew can hear the fight announcer, much to the latter's surprise.
Fight Announcer: WALLACE WELLS VS. ENVY ADAMS. FIGHT!
    Cameraman: Who said that?
    Fight Announcer: Uh… nobody.
  • Logical Latecomer: The documentary crew comments and reacts to the weirdness of the cast, reacting nonplussed to Ramona's reasons for remaining on set and being surprised when Envy and Wallace have their stunt doubles fight, including questioning who the fight announcer voice is and where it's coming from. After being fired by Matthew, they leave calling everyone crazy.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Wallace sics his gang of stunt doubles on Envy, which is exactly what Lucas Lee did to Scott in the movie.
    • Wallace is known to turn straight men gay in the comics. Here, we see this happen with Todd Ingram, who cheats on Envy with Wallace.
    • Both Ramona and Envy remember how Todd punched a hole in the moon for each of them.
    • The Clash at Demonhead concert has the entire crowd singing along to "Black Sheep", the band's signature song from the film.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: After Wallace replaces the straight guy who played him last episode, he decides to stick around so he can be paid to play as himself. He even takes advantage of the contract that allows him to use four stunt doubles compared to Envy's one in Ramona.
  • Post-Stress Overeating: After Wallace breaks his heart, Todd does away with his vegan diet (consequently losing his powers) and stuffs himself with a big bucket of poutine.
  • Red Herring: Ramona suspects that Todd used his Vegan powers to kidnap Scott with a portal. After finally confronting him about it with the footage, he denies it, and Envy sees it as a better version, meaning someone else must have Vegan powers.
  • Running Gag: It is impossible for Todd and Envy to stay professional long enough to perform a scene without breaking character and making out on-set. Wallace helps get things back on track after changing that one scene so he and Todd make out. Behind the scenes however, they frequently go back to the trailer to "go over their lines".
  • Spanner in the Works: Wallace ends up "breaking" Todd after their romantic fling, which leads to Envy breaking up with Todd. What's more, Todd breaks his Vegan vows after eating poutine (implied to not be a vegan version), supposedly losing his powers in the process. Both lead stars bailing grinds the movie production to a halt, well before Matthew coming by to shut down the project altogether and fire everyone involved.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: With Todd being another dead lead, Ramona announces her resignation as Envy's stunt double right as Envy fires her.
  • Varying Competency Alibi: Todd becomes the latest suspect in Scott's disappearance due to his ability to create portals similar to the one Scott fell into. Envy rules him out as a suspect by noting that the portal that took Scott is far more advanced than anything Todd is capable of.
