The Makkine portal opens! All Neo Edo has to come together to fight the army of warbottos and kaiju that emerge.
Tropes:
- Art Shift: After Gen falls into the waste sluice the 3d animation is replaced with a super-distorted 2d sequence where Gen imagines giant germs attacking him.
- Enemy Mine: Usagi's friends, the Mole Crew, the Bat Squadron, and even Lady Fuwa's Neko Ninjas all team up to fight the Makkine invasion.
- Kaiju: The Makkine kaiju that reached through the portal in the first season finale shows up in person. The combined forces of the defense mech, Kiyoko, Gashadokuro, and Karasu-Tengu barely even slow it down.
- Keystone Army: The Makkine army is powered remotely by energy from their home dimension, when their Warmount is destroyed their power is cut off.
- Portal Cut: Usagi closes the portal when the Makkine Warmount is halfway through, destroying it.
- Puppy Love: Usagi and Chizu at the end, stargazing with their friends.
