Usagi and friends begin to look more into mysterious winged monstrosity that appeared while Chibi-usa does her best to keep their connection a secret. But their search gets sidetracked by a surprise reunion from Reika Nishimura who's having relationship drama with arcade owner Motoki over her European academia.

- Attack Reflector: Kyokubadanko uses her whip to uno reverse Burning Mandala.
- The Bus Came Back: Reika, Motoki's girlfriend from the first season, returns for a visit.
- Career Versus Man: Reika reveals that she was offered a fabulous scholarship in a European university but accepting it means that she'd have to stay for another 10 years. Something that greatly troubles Motoki.
- Like Parent, Like Child: As Chibi-usa tries to get a closer look at Reika being manipulated by Tiger's Eye, Luna laments that she has unfortunate similarities to Usagi. In this case, their love for evesdropping.
- Meaningful Echo: All episode, Reika struggles to get her horse to jump over an obstacle. It's only in the end after she confirms her boyfriend's love is she able to get the horse to jump.
- Mood Whiplash: After Reika reveals her worries along with the possibility of Motoki breaking up with her, Usagi and Minako cheerfully declare that they'll figure out his true feelings while they manhandle their cats.
- Mr. Fanservice: Mamoru calls Usagi wearing only a bathrobe with his chest exposed and his hair wet.
- Mysterious Animal Senses: Reika tells Chibi-usa that all animals, especially horses, have the power to detect a person's true intentions and whether they're lying or not.
- Psychological Projection: Usagi is so focused on Reika being potentially separated from her boyfriend because of her own problems with Mamoru. Though Rei clarifies that he was just busy for half a day and Usagi had no idea what he was up to.
- Secret-Keeper: Per orders of Pegasus, Chibi-usa keeps his identity and whereabouts a secret from the Inner girls.
- Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Usagi was upset that Mamoru didn't call her and spends the whole night calling her friends to complain about it. Mamoru calls the next day saying that he did call but he couldn't get through since her line was busy. From her phone calls.
- Skewed Priorities: While Ami insists that the girls focus more on learning about the new enemy, Usagi and Minako are more interested in Reika and Motoki's personal life.
- Stepford Smiler: After breaking the news to her boyfriend about her upcoming scholarship, Motoki gives a soft smile saying that he's "happy" for Reika. It doesn't help that he begins to avoid her afterwards.
- Transformation Sequence: Chibi Moon's full transformation sequence from the Sailor Moon S movie makes its only appearance in the series on television.
- Villain Opening Scene: The episode starts with the circus folk laughing at Tiger's Eye for his recent failure while Zircornia orders him and his cohorts to find Pegasus.
- Whip of Dominance: The Beast Tamer Lemures, Kyokubadanko, uses a really large whip to attack the Sailor Guardians.
- Understanding Boyfriend: To everyone's surprise, including Reika's, Motoki was actually okay with his girlfriend taking her scholarship and is supportive of her dreams. The only reason he didn't say much was because he didn't want to discourage her from accepting the offer.
