Now that they've found their princess, the Three Lights announce that they'll be retiring from their idol campaign with a final concert. Though along with leaving, the trio intend to use their song to find the Light of Hope by order of their princess. Unfortunately, their going away event turns into a welcoming party as Sailor Galaxia makes her apocalyptic arrival as the Galaxy's Golden Queen known to the Earth.
Tropes in this episode include:
- Apocalypse How: Once Galaxia appears, she envelops the Earth in a malevolent purple aura that unleashes black lightning all across the city. The screams of the innocent can be heard as the lighting strikes devastate everything everywhere all at once.
- Big "NO!": Star Fighter screams this after her beloved Princess disappears into nothing.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Kakyuu explains that any Guardian who wears Galaxia's bracelets will be forced to commit to her authority of wickedness.
- Cliffhanger: Once Princess Kakyuu kicks the bucket, Galaxia begins her conquest of Earth by attacking everyone with dark lightning. As this happens, Sailor Moon and the rest of the Sailor Guardians look on in horror and grimace.
- Continuity Nod: Usagi thinks back to her breaking down in the rain and how Seiya tried to comfort her.
- Contrived Coincidence: Chibi Chibi plays around with Usagi's radio which just so happens to announce the Three Lights breaking up.
- Fighting from the Inside: After having half of her purified by Sailor Moon, Tin Nyanko struggles between living up to her Sailor Guardian values to attacking everyone for their Star Seeds.
- Foreshadowing: The Three Lights use their last concert to reach out to the Light of Hope. As they sing, Chibi Chibi glows for a bit and the only (major) Sailor Guardian that appears is Galaxia herself.
- Friendship Moment: Rei shows up to Usagi's house to convince her to tell Seiya that she still loves Mamoru. She even goes to her friend's side when she starts to cry over Mamoru's lack of responses.
- Graceful Loser: As much as he still loves Usagi, and even thought of stealing her away after the last show, Seiya accepts that he can't compete with Mamoru and sincerely hopes that Usagi will get to reunite with him.
- Gray Rain of Depression: Juuban is plagued with dark clouds and lots of rain as the Inner girls realize that Mamoru never made it to his American university.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Princess Kakyuu takes on the full blows of Galaxia's attacks to keep her precious Starlights safe.
- Instant Costume Change: Haruka and Michiru immediately transform as soon as Tin Nyanko attacks the concert.
- Internal Reveal: Rei and the others learn that Mamoru has never responded to Usagi since he "left" for America.
- Let's Get Dangerous!: Defied. Sailor Moon leaps into action after Princess Kakyuu perishes and summons her Finishing Move on Sailor Galaxia. Alas, the attack has zero effect on her.
- Made of Evil: Sailor Mars comments on how Galaxia's aura is full of hatred.
- Mood Whiplash:
- The pleasant and warm vibes of the final concert are ruined by the bombastic attack of Tin Nyanko.
- During the fight, Princess Kakyuu insists that everyone work together which is something Sailor Moon has longed for. But the peaceful mood is ruined when Galaxia's dark aura engulfs the Earth.
- No-Nonsense Nemesis: As soon as Galaxia identifies Kakyuu as the one who escaped her and is trying to contact the Light of Hope, she unleashes a barrage of destructive energy blasts at her.
- No-Sell: Galaxia easily dispels Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss without breaking a sweat.
- Not So Stoic: Despite her cold hostility towards the Starlights, Neptune is horrified to see Kakyuu be demolished by Galaxia.
- Oh, Crap!: As the sky darkens with Galaxia's arrival, Sailor Mars realizes something horrible has arrived to Earth far worse than what they've encountered before.Sailor Mars: W-what is this massive evil aura?!
- Reused Character Design: One of the fans enjoying the concert resembles Michiru.
- Secret Test of Character: While annoyed with Usagi's lofty ideals of cooperating with the Starlights, Haruka decides to allow her to go see them if only to prove that they won't agree with her.
- Stealth Hi/Bye: Haruka and Michiru show up in the middle of the sidewalk to confront Usagi who was planning on seeing Seiya.
- We ARE Struggling Together: The Outer Guardians, Starlights and Inner Guardians end up fighting among each other over how they should deal with Tin Nyanko.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: As soon as she makes her presence known to everyone, Galaxia erases her final Animamate having no further use for her.
