Esmeraude begins to work overtime by targeting two Negative Points at the same time in order to complete her Dark Gate. And one of the Points happens to be Chibi-usa's elementary school where all of the teachers and students, including her best friend Momoko, begin to behave like bloodthirsty savages.


Tropes in this episode include:

  • Best Friend: Chibi-usa considers Momoko to be her best friend.
  • Book Ends: Momoko comes to visit Chibi-usa when she's sick in bed. Chibi-usa would do the same to Momoko as she's recuperating from the Droid's attack.
  • Bully Hunter: One of Momoko's defining traits is her zero tolerance for bullying. Which she demonstrates to Kyuusuke when he calls Chibi-usa "Chibi-usa" just to tease her.
  • Creepy Twins: Esmeraude summons Chiral and Achiral, twin men with similar physical appearances but are dangerously effective in combat.
  • Driving Question: Ami openly questions why the Black Moon Clan is after Chibi-usa leaving the others stumped as to what their motivations are.
  • Dub Name Change:
  • Momoko is named "Melissa" in the DiC episode.
  • Achiral and Chiral also become “Doom and Gloom”.
  • Fighting Your Friend: Chibi-usa is forced to fight against her friend Momoko after she's cursed with Dark Power and the Twin Droids use her in the second act.
  • Flashback Cut: The episode begins with a flashback to Chibi-usa's first day at school and how she befriended Momoko.
  • Foreshadowing: While Wiseman convinces Prince Demande to spare the Rabbit so they can use her untapped potential, Saphir is shown hiding behind a pillar spying on them with a disapproving glare.
  • The Gloves Come Off: Defied. Esmeraude decides to face Sailor Moon and her friends directly after foiling her latest plan. But she's called back to headquarters by Prince Demande.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Having been given enough time to properly mature and grow, the Dark Henges are colored gold instead of green.
  • Hate Plague: Taken to the extreme with the elementary kids and staff as they become needlessly violent with anyone unfortunate to cross their paths, even each other.
  • Healing Hands: While acting the light energy from her screams, Chibi-usa manages to purify Momoko of the Dark Power within her.
  • Heroic Resolve: In the episode's end, Chibi-usa decides to return to the future but asks everyone if they can come with her to help her mommy. They accept without issue.
  • I Choose to Stay: Chibi-usa declines' Luna's suggestion to run away as she wants to stay in the warzone of a school to help her friend however she can.
  • Intangibility: Chiral and Achiral are able to phase through any surfaces making it difficult for the Guardians to catch them.
  • Kids Are Cruel: The kids at Juuban Public Elementary School become violent little monsters after being exposed to the Twin Droids' Dark Power.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: With two active Negative Points, the Guardians decide to split up to investigate them with Venus, Mercury, Jupiter and Mars going to the park while Moon goes to the school.
  • Mood Whiplash: Everything about the scene where Sailor Moon reunites with Chibi-usa at the school. First it turns hysterical as Sailor Moon is scared silly by a skeleton prop, then it turns super sweet when Chibiusa is shown hugging onto her, then it turns intense when Chiral appears ready to kill Sailor Moon, and then it turns hysterical as the hero manages to escape with some comical reactions.
  • Shut Up, Kirk!: Chiral interrupts Sailor Moon's In the Name of the Moon speech by saying that she should focus on saying prayers for her upcoming funeral.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Deciding to forgo complex operations to create her Dark Henges like in the past episodes, Esmeraude decides to create and nurture two powerful ones at the same time so she can finally open up a Dark Gate.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Luna is startled when Artemis shows up declaring that there's Dark Power abound.
  • Tactical Withdrawal: Prince Demande orders Esmeraude to return to his palace as there's been a new change in operations.
  • Taking the Bullet: A purified Momoko pushes Chibi-usa out of Achiral's electric attack leaving her to take the blunt.
  • Terrain Sculpting: Chiral and Achiral are able to manipulate the Earth to defend themselves against the Guardians.
  • Torches and Pitchforks: Minus the actual weapons, Momoko leads her group of violent instigators into attacking Chibi-usa inside the school.
  • Trauma Button: Momoko Taking the Bullet for Chibi-usa forces her to relive that fateful day when her mother sacrificed herself to protect her from the Black Moon Clan's attack.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Having to see Momoko hurt causes Chibi-usa to create a great burst of light energy that overwhelms the Twin Droids.
  • Urban Ruins: The elementary school is ravaged and ruined from the inside and the windows shattered thanks to the violent happy student body wrecking the place.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: After seeing how Chibiusa's burst of energy managed to create a reaction with the Malefic Black Crystal, Wiseman suggests that they use her power to support their cause rather then destroy her like initially planned.
  • Who Dares?: Chibi-usa says this to the Droids for hurting her friend and mommy while unleashing a burst of energy.
