When an armed gang steals a cache of decommissioned weapons from the LAPD due to be melted down, 20 Squad must race to find out what the gang intends with their new haul of firepower. Hondo's father gets a bad diagnosis and plans for Luca's food truck gains momentum.

  • Better to Die than Be Killed: The Chaos Posse, a gun of Jamaican gun runners who attacked the convoy for arms, believe this.
    Nate: When the Chaos Posse gets cornered, they'd rather be buried by six than judged by twelve.
  • The Collector: 20 Squad's first lead brings them to the home of a gun enthusiast who collects firearms owned by notable criminals, including Mickey Cohen and Pablo Escobar.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: One of the Chaos Posse's two ringleaders is a woman.
  • Oh, Crap!: 20 Squad's reaction to some of the firepower the gang has acquired.
    Luca: [discussing some of the guns stolen] Capable of putting .223 rounds through SWAT body armour.
    Hondo: And now they're in the hands of a crew who's willing to shoot the police.
  • Old Friend: Detective Herb Gordon of Long Beach PD and Street know each other and are friendly.
  • Put on a Bus: Deacon mentions Annie and his kids are in San Diego after their house got shot up in the previous episode.
    • Hicks is also absent, due to attending a court case.
  • Storming the Castle: A modern-day example; the Chaos Posse attack Long Beach PD's headquarters while most of its officers are away on training exercises to kill their former bookkeeper.
  • Time-Delayed Death: Hondo shoots Isaac Irie, the Chaos Posse's male ringleader, in the leg. Irie manages to briefly escape but bleeds to death in a corridor a few metres away.
  • The Topic of Cancer: Hondo's father's test results come back, indicating he's got lung cancer.
