Mario gets beeg money and spends it irresponsibly
After creating the world's greatest invention—spaghetti that willingly lets itself get eaten—Mario becomes a multi-millionaire. Hilarity Ensues as he spends his money on all sorts of ridiculous things.- A Fool and His New Money Are Soon Parted: Basically how the episode goes: Mario gets wealthy thanks to an invention he made, and he spends the episode wasting his wealth on random stuff until he gambles away everything he has.
- Comically Missing the Point: Subverted. When Mario is given a business game card a la Squid Game, he questions if Hideo Kojima works for playstation. Turns out in the next episode, he does in fact work for playstation.
- Rickroll: An In-Universe version of Rick Astley serves as Mario's security guard.
- Sequel Hook: After Mario goes completely broke, Hideo Kojima invites him to join the Squid Game for a chance at winning big bucks.
- Take That!: While showing off his new house and achievements, Mario proudly reveals an NFT he spent on $100,000 - only to immediately regret it when he realizes he spent $100,000 on an internet drawing. For bonus points, the NFT is just a crappy stick figure.
- Victory Is Boring: Being rich hasn't brought Mario happiness at all - he lists his greatest achievement as "getting out of bed in the morning" and he turns to gambling to drown out his depression.
