Mario gets sick and SMG4 and Meggy try to figure out what's wrong.
Mario has come down sick, and SMG4 and Meggy are at each other's throats trying to cure him. When the doctor discovers that Mario is missing his liver, the two race to find it before it's too late.
Tropes:
- Asshole Victim: Considering what Wheeler did in “The Pawn Business” and attempting to get away with Mario’s liver, you won’t feel too bad for him after Mario forcefully steals his liver back.
- Assimilation Backfire: After Wheeler eats Mario's liver, Wheeler gains Mario's avatar powers. However, this also turns him into another Mario, complete with his weakness to watching Nintendo memes.
- Bait-and-Switch: Wheeler is shown in an ice bath near the end of the episode, leading us to believe that Meggy and SMG4 have cut out his stolen liver and have given it back to Mario. But then Mario kicks the door down and performs the "Come here and give me your liver" meme, taking it back himself.
- Call-Back: This is the first episode since the Cosmology Saga that anyone referred to Mario as the avatar.
- Dope Slap: Meggy clouts SMG4 when he agrees with Bob's excuse for stealing Mario's liver.
- Eye Scream: SMG4's attempt at preventing Meggy from feeding Mario soup leads to the latter sticking the spoon in Mario's eye by accident. Not that he seems to take much notice.
- Groin Attack: Meggy stomps square on Bob's ovaries when he tells her that he sold Mario's liver.
- Karma Houdini Warranty: Wheeler makes off with Mario's liver he got from Bob and eats it, but then he gets turned into another Mario with his weaknesses... and then Mario shows up to steal back his liver.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: After SMG4 brings up the plot sensitivity of 1-Up Mushrooms and the writers' liberal use of it, Meggy glares at Kevin so hard, her eyes go through Kevin's computer screen.Meggy: I feel like I've just witnessed the ethereal plane...
- Lethal Chef: Meggy, as per usual, who for some reason made her soup with gunpowder. Mario rightly warns SMG4 not to let her feed him a spoonful of it, as when Toad gets a taste of it, he explodes.
- Neck Snap: SMG4 does this to Wheeler after distracting him with a Nintendo meme, since he's taken on Mario's personality thanks to the liver.
- Never Trust a Title: Mario is actually the victim of liver theft at the hands of Bob and Wheeler, and only lives up to the episode's title at the very last minute of the video when he personally takes his liver back from Wheeler.
- Oh, Crap!: Wheeler gets one when Bob accidentally reveals to Meggy that he's the customer Bob pawned off Mario's liver to.
- Organ Theft: Bob steals Mario's liver after Mario fell asleep first at their sleepover. Later, Wheeler falls victim to this as well, courtesy of Mario.
- Out of Character: Played for Laughs. After the Medic diagnoses Mario with a missing liver and leaves, Medic points out that he doesn't have any spare livers on hand. This is despite the fact that Medic would definitely have some on hand.
- Pain-Powered Leap: Meggy subjects Bob to one right into Wheeler after delivering a stomp to his ovaries.
- Take That!: When SMG4 calls in Medic to help Mario, all Medic does is diagnose Mario with a missing liver and leaves Meggy and SMG4 with a bill for $1 million. The least he could have done was charge them after the trip to the hospital.
