Recap / SMG 4 Who Let The Chomp Out Again

Go To

Mario and SMG4 want to use a Chain Chomp to win a pet show, but things get out of hand when it escapes.

  • Contrived Coincidence: The coffee shop where SMG4 decided to go to after giving up on finding the Chomp just so happens to have the Chomp in a Paper-Thin Disguise hiding in it.
  • Disqualification-Induced Victory: Because Mario and SMG4 ran out of time to get back, Toadsworth declared Bob and Fishy Boopkins the winners. Then Mario and SMG4 crash through the building with the Chain Chomp and accidentally squish them to death, so Toadsworth automatically declared the Marios winners because the original winners just died.
  • Driven to Suicide: SMG4, when he finds out what the prize really is.
  • Going Commando: When Luigi (who's dressed like a sexy lady host) collapses from dancing, he falls over and his crotch is facing the camera, no underwear in sight. Thankfully, Barbie Doll Anatomy comes into play here.
  • Meanwhile Scene: While Mario and SMG4 are trying to chase down the Chain Chomp, we're given several scenes where the competitors are presenting their pets. Eventually, when it's Mario and SMG4's turn and they're not there, Toadsworth resorts to making Luigi do a sexy lady dance.
  • Oh, Crap!: The Chomp when it sees that Mario and SMG4 wandered into the coffee shop he was hiding in.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: At the coffee shop, the Chain Chomp wears a fake mustache and fedora. Mario completely falls for it and tries to befriend him, but SMG4 notices that the guy looks suspicious and pulls off the Chomp's fedora, revealing him. How did SMG4 know? Because "no one wears crappy fedoras anymore."
  • Pyrrhic Victory: The prize for winning? Pokemon GO for the Xbox 64. Mario's actually happy with this, but SMG4 is Driven to Suicide.
  • Sequel Episode: To "Who let the chomp out?" from 2014. Fittingly, it features some returning gags from that episode, such as the meatloaf joke and the Gourmet Guy blocking the door.
