War On Smash Bros Ultimate contains examples of:

  • Badass Boast: SMG4 has several during both fights with the Koopalings.
So you like kick butts, do ya!?
I'll slap you across the face so hard!
  • Call-Back:
    • Tari still has the controller she used to control SMG4 in "War of the Fat Italians 2018".
    • Mario's Aside Comment about Smash nearly ends up causing Waluigi to go berserk again. Luckily, Wario's there to comfort him.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The Shroominator is able to make quick work of Bowser Jr and the Koopalings, no thanks in part to Tari being the one controlling him.
  • Dumb Muscle: Morton. He's so dumb that he catches on fire because of math problems.
  • The Easy Way or the Hard Way: Roy give Mario, SMG4, and Tari this trope. Mario's response is to double flip the bird at him.
    Mario: FAAAAAAAAAHK YOUUUUUUUU!!!
Roy: Okay, I, I see you choosin' the hard way!
  • Filler Villain: The Koopalings are the main antagonist of the episode, wanting Smash Bros. for themselves, but that's it. Bob's the real threat, and that's only because at the very end, its revealed that he's managed to invokedresurrect his career.
  • Foreshadowing: During the fight for the Smash Ultimate copy, Bob is shown rapping on a big screen TV before it's knocked down by Wendy. At the very end, the same TV reveals that Bob is already salvaging his rapping career, even hitting new records as a result.
  • Flipping the Bird: Mario gives a double handed version when given the choice between surrendering or fighting for the Smash Ultimate copy by the Koopalings.
  • Indy Ploy: SMG4, Mario and Tari did have a plan, but had to ditch it when the crowd gets too riled to execute it. Their instead forced to fight of the wave of customers after the game as well.
  • Oh, Crap!: The Koopalings are left terrified in the wake of The Shroominator, with Bowser Jr only managing to mutter a lame insult in response.
Okay, prepare for trouble, you, dildo?
  • The Reveal: Bob's managed to invokedresurrect his career after the failure of his tour back in "The Mario Concert."
  • Stunned Silence: Tari is left aghast when SMG4 kicks Bowser Jr into the shopping cart Wendy was using. SMG4 don't seem to care, while Mario claims that it makes him so happy.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Wendy really should have seen the consequence of cutting open a fully-loaded fire extinguisher coming. She gets blasted into the air and crashing into a tv playing Bob's song.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Mario severally underestimates the Koopalings, laughing insanely and getting hit by a table in response.
  • Unwilling Roboticisation: Shroomy is traded for a Super Smash Each other In The Ass Bros Ultimate copy held by E. Gadd. Next we see him, he's been turned into a Humongous Mecha called The Shroominator. His personality is completely fine, save for the fact he now considers E. Gadd his father.
  • Wham Shot: At the end of the episode, a knocked down widescreen TV shows that Bob is invokedalready making a comeback after Boopkins ruined his tour back in "The Mario Concert."
  • Your Head A-Splode: Mario, after chocking on a grenade, has his head explode offscreen, though is fixed by the scene after that.
