Go To

Adam has begun the tournament WHITE EDEN: Wedding Beef, allowing the other skaters a chance to be able to race against him. While the others are excited at the chance, Reki's recent break-off from Langa has left the other lost in a daze.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: Episode 8 shows us the harmful consequences of Adam's abuse at the hands of his aunts, turning him into a Combat Sadomasochist who's obsessed with trying to find his "Eve" to fulfill his desires. Adam may be a slimy villain, but the narrative makes it clear that familial abuse is never okay in any situation.
  • At Least I Admit It: Joe calls everyone at S morons who could only communicate through skating, but does admit that it makes him an idiot as well.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Joe finds Reki at a ramen shop and tells him not to be alone.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Langa uses his board to block a strike from a metal pipe. Also the group of skateboarders trying to go after him attempt to bludgeon him with metal pipes that he manages to dodge.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Joe easily knocks out one of the skaters trying to go after Langa by simply smashing his face in with the back of his fist.
  • Implied Love Interest: As Langa confides in his mom about the fight he had with Reki but not mentioning his name, she assumes he's asking for romantic advice. When she asks if he likes this person, Langa sounds shocked but quietly admits he does as he blushes a bit. She suggests he talk it out with this person and tell her his true feelings. Langa's only response is to ask in confusion what his mother meant by a "girl" to which she responds to kind with confusion as well.
  • Flat Joy: Once he pulls out the card for Langa's opponent, Adam calls out Joe's name by giving a flat, "Joe".
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Joe while imparting some advice to Langa still doesn't hold back since he wants to have his beef against Adam. He starts showing why he's called the "Strongest Six-pack Skater" of S to the other's shock and Langa can hardly keep up.
  • Lost in a Crowd: Reki manages to pass by Langa's inspection as he looks for him in the crowd.
  • Offhand Backhand: Joe does this to one of the skaters who were attempting to sabotage Langa.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Reki arrives at S wearing a hoodie and hat. Thankfully, the only reason Langa doesn't notice him was because he quickly turns his back to Langa and squats near some other skaters to blend in.
  • The Reveal: Adam hits of Snake's hat to reveal that it's Tadashi who has decided to skate in order to stop Adam from skating every again for his own safety.
  • Tournament Arc: This entire episode kicks it off.
