Veldaban, who has been crowned the king of Keldagrim, grows concerned about the Red Axe's waning activity after Hreidmar's disappearance, owing to his failure to ascend to the throne. Fearing that the Red Axe may be plotting another attack, Veldaban enlists the World Guardian's help to annihilate them once and for all.
This quest contains the following tropes:
- The Corrupter: After you take down Grimsson for the first time, Hreidmar uses a dragon battlestaff to transform himself, Grimsson and Veldaban into chaos dwarves.
- Dual Boss: The second half of the final boss involves battling both Chaos Hreidmar and Chaos Grimsson at the same time.
- Grand Finale: This is the final quest in the Rise of the Red Axe quest series, concluding with the Red Axe's ultimate downfall.
- Improperly Paranoid: Veldaban fears that the Red Axe may secretly be plotting another attack against Keldagrim, due to their waning activity following Hreidmar's failure to ascend to the throne. However, it turns out that Hreidmar gave up on trying to take over Keldagrim altogether and is instead running his own personal palace back in his base; even if he did successfully ascend, he'd only rule as king for a short two years before stepping down.
- It's Personal: Veldaban goes after Hreidmar not just to put an end to the Red Axe for good, but because the former has a personal vendetta against the latter since he turned Veldaban's girlfriend into a chaos dwarf.
- Turns Red: Hreidmar uses a dragon battlestaff to transform himself, Grimsson, and Veldaban into chaos dwarves. Veldaban, however, spends the battle resisting the chaos transformation, and you are left on your own to deal with Chaos Hreidmar and Chaos Grimsson.
