The kids are reeling following last night’s events. As an investigation begins, they discover their parents may have more to hide than they could have imagined.
- Confess to a Lesser Crime: Molly claims she lost her hair clip in the office because she was looking for the liquor cabinet.
- Continuity Nod: Nico's house has an advanced AI, similar to JARVIS.
- Destructive Savior: Molly in the bathroom scene, on the run from Catherine.
- Double-Meaning Title: It's both a Character Title (with "Destiny" being the name of the girl whose disappearance/death started the plot), and meaningful in that the kids start to discover the legacies and activities of their parents.
- Dirty Old Woman: While on a date with her husband, Tina removes her underwear and puts it in her husband's hand. Robert is not amused, due to the stress of the sacrifice as well due to the deep strain placed on their marriage by their daughter's death. When she claims that it works for Dakota Johnson, Robert rebuffs her by saying that they are in real life and not some trashy movie.
- Embarrassing Cover-Up: Nico pretends to be having sex with Alex when her mother comes home to distract her from the fact that she broke into her mom's office and made it snow.
- Going Commando: At one point, Tina removes her underwear to seduce her husband during their dinner date... and presumably spend the rest of the episode without them.
- Mythology Gag: The scene with the X-ray goggles is a Gender Flip of how it happened in the comics, where Gert checks out Chase instead of Chase checking out Nico and Karolina.
- Of Corpse He's Alive: A variation as the gang are just about to talk about how to handle Destiny when they see a social media posting of her traveling abroad. Karolina wants to believe it but the others point out how easy it is to fake such a post to cover up her death.
- Tempting Fate: Stacey remarks that at least she and Dale won't have to see Tina again. Cue them opening a door and encountering the Minorus, celebrating the release of the Synnergy serum.
- This Is Reality: Robert says this when Tina gives him her underwear.
- Weather Manipulation: Nico accidentally uses her mom's staff to make it snow in the office... and then can't make it stop.
