Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 5 Driving Miss Hazy With Mr Meeseeks

Go To

Leni tries to get her driver's license while Rick, Lincoln, and Lola go off on an adventure of Lincoln's choosing.

Rick & Morty episode "Meeseeks And Destroy"

Loud House episode(s): "Driving Miss Hazy", "Sound Of Silence"

  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • Since Rick took the Meeseeks Box with him to Mewni, there was no way for Mr. Meeseeks to make more of himself to help Leni. Instead, he enlists the help of the other Loud sisters just like Lincoln did in the original LH episode.
    • As Lincoln is on an adventure with Rick and Lola, Luna and Meeseeks are the ones to tell off Lori for sabotaging Leni's test.
  • Adaptational Deviation: Leni manages to get her driver's license in this chapter while in the main Loud House canon, she wouldn't get it until the sixth season.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Because it's sweet, kindhearted Leni he's working with and NOT the impatient jerkass Jerry, Mr. Meeseeks doesn't target her when the stress of existing gets to him. Instead, he targets the cop and DMV lady who fail her.
  • Adapted Out:
    • The fantasy world with King Jelly Bean is replaced with Mewni in this chapter. Said fantasy world would eventually appear in "Lynnterstellar", however.
    • Mr. Meeseeks does not use the Meeseeks Box to make more Meeseeks like in the original R&M episode, as Rick took it with him because he was wise enough to realize his grandkids would cause trouble with it.
  • Crossover: The chapter features characters from the Disney animated series Star vs. the Forces of Evil, which replaces the King Jelly Bean fantasy world from the original RM episode. Full context: Lola demands to go on Rick and Lincoln's adventure and, because she doesn't know how the portal gun works, transports the three of them to the kingdom of Mewni. Lola quickly becomes friends with Star Butterfly while Ludo gets his hands on Rick's Meeseeks box, using it to summon an entire army of them to steal Star's magic wand.
  • Decomposite Character: While Leni does fill in Jerry's role in this chapter, she doesn't follow it beat for beat. For instance, Leni realizes how much pain Mr. Meeseeks is in the longer he exists and tries to obtain her license for his sake as well as her own. In Rick and Morty canon, Jerry got frustrated and quit, leaving the Meekseeks to suffer even more.
