Go To

Rick & Morty: Big Trouble in Little Sanchez (post-credit scene), Rick and Morty – Let the Rick One In (comic book)

Loud House episode: A Grave Mistake

  • Adaptational Context Change: At the end of the chapter, Bertrund reveals that the reason why his parents wanted to take him with them on their cruise ship job, in addition to being too young to leave alone, was because they wanted to move out of Royal Woods due to all the supernatural shenanigans that have been going on.
    • Unlike the Rick and Morty comic it was based on, Lincoln doesn't turn into a vampire to gain more brides, rather it's a Heroic Sacrifice for Lucy's protection.
  • Adaptational Expansion: The chapter is an episodic adaptation of the post credit scene of "Big Trouble in Little Sanchez", and the vampire master becomes the antagonist.
  • Adaptational Species Change: It's revealed that Boris is indeed a vampire, whereas in Loud House canon, he's a normal human despite his vampiric appearance.
  • Adapted Out: Ricky the rooster's funeral service is replaced with a rescue mission for Lincoln involving Rick, Lucy and her Morticians Club against the Vampire Master and his forces.
  • Anger Born of Worry: After Lincoln is turned back to normal, Lucy calls him an idiot for putting himself in danger.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: When the vampires kidnap Lincoln, they turn him into a vampire as well and sets him against Rick and the Mortician's Club.
  • Break the Cutie: The Mortician's Club get more darkness than they bargained for on this adventure, as they witness just how dark Lucy's life REALLY is. Haiku gets the worst of it, as the initial vampire attack leaves her in a state of shock and is later captured by the vampires along with Lucy.
  • Call-Back: The Vampire Master wants revenge on Rick for killing one of their own, named "Janitorula" ("Coach Feratu" in canon). This seems to be the name of the vampire Rick slayed off-screen in Tiny Rick, Friend or Faux?, itself an adaptation of "Big Trouble in Little Sanchez".
  • Heroic Sacrifice: When the vampires demand a blood relative of Rick's be brought to them and threaten Haiku, Lucy almost gives herself up, only for Lincoln to offer himself instead.
  • Original Generation: It is a partly original expansion of the post-credit scene of "Big Trouble in Little Sanchez", known here as "Tiny Rick: Friend or Faux", and the Rick and Morty – Let the Rick One In comic.
  • Older Than They Look: Being a vampire, Boris is at least a hundred years old despite looking like a 9-year-old kid. He does mention he WAS nine years old when he became a vampire.
  • Pragmatic Adaptation: The chapter is loosely based on the Rick and Morty comic miniseries, Let the Rick One In, featuring the premise of the vampires taking revenge on Rick, and Lincoln/Morty getting turned to vampires, the vampire teenagers and the subsequent rescue mission.
