Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 27 Lynner Takes The Stone

Go To

Fed up with Lynn's over-competitive attitude, the Loud Siblings convince Rick and Lincoln to take her with them on their next adventure... with DISASTROUS results!

Rick & Morty episode: Rickmancing The Stone

Loud House episode(s): Lynn-er Takes All, No Such Luck, Middle Men

  • Adaptation Amalgamation: On the Loud House side, we have a combination of Lynn-er Takes All and No Such Luck, with a brief mention of Middle Men.
  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • When Lynn goes off about someone being "bad luck", she says that to Rick, not Lincoln.
    • In Middle Men, Lynn reveals her backstory about being bullied during her first year of Middle School to Lincoln and Clyde. Here, while she still told them the same story of "that one kid", she never revealed that it was her, though Lincoln seems to be putting the pieces together.
    • Lincoln and Clyde touring Middle School with Lynn happened near the end of Season 3 of the Loud House. Here, it's already happened before this chapter, which is early into "Season 3" of this story and retells and re-contextualizes Season 2's No Such Luck.
  • Blood Knight: Lynn takes to the "post-apocalyptic scavenger" lifestyle like a fish to water, relishing in the pain and death she causes. And that's all BEFORE Armothy comes into play.
  • Call-Forward: The chapter opens with Lincoln having a nightmare about him fighting Lynn in a ruined stadium. This foreshadows their final confrontation in No Such Thing As Luck.
  • Darker and Edgier: Lynn loses an eye and runs away from home. The author even notes in the beginning that this chapter is "the riskiest yet".
  • Downer Ending: By the end of the chapter, the Loud Family is down one sister with Lynn stealing Rick's portal gun and running away. So they try and cover up her disappearance until they can find her while Lincoln remains concerned for her safety.
  • Eye Scream: Lynn gets hit in her right eye and lets out an appropriately horrifying scream.
  • Fatal Flaw: For Lynn, it's Pride. Even after things go horribly wrong, she would rather blame everything on Rick and his "bad luck" rather than her own competitive nature and poor decisions.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Lynn isn't wrong when she thinks Rick puts her and her family through many dangerous adventures (including this one), but she's using that fact as a convenient scapegoat for her own failings to avoid admitting them.
  • Mythology Gag: When Lynn rapidly brushes her teeth, rather than one tooth falling out like in the original Loud House episode, her gums bleed profusely, like how the scene was supposed to be.
