Recap / Regular Show S 01 Ep 10 Don

Go To

Don

The park staff get Rigby's brother in for an audit. Don loves hugging people, but Rigby refuses to do so much as embrace him.

This episode provides examples of...

  • The Ace: Don much to Rigby's chagrin.
  • Big Brother Bully: Rigby to Don when the latter asks him why he never gives him any affection.
Don: What’s going on here? You never give me some sugar. Did I do something?
    Rigby: Yeah. You were born!
  • Big Brother Worship: Don tells Rigby that he was always trying to be like him by having a haircut like his and being naked too when Rigby tells him why he hates him.
  • Big Little Brother: Don is somehow twice the size of Rigby even though he's revealed to be the younger sibling.
Rigby: And to top it all off, everyone thinks you're my older brother! I'm the older brother! Me!
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Despite appearing to be older than Rigby due to being taller and having a deeper voice, it's never actually stated that he's older than Rigby. That's because he's not.
    • Another clue that Rigby's the older brother is the Kick the Dog words he says to Don: "You were born!"
    • You'd think that Rigby would do his best to look as different as possible from Don considering how he hates him. Then it turns out that Don is trying to look like him because he looks up to him, not the other way around.
  • Loved by All: Don is loved by everyone except his brother Rigby, who resents him for being more popular than him, since even Rigby's friends seem to like Don more than Rigby himself. He eventually makes peace with Rigby too.
  • Kick the Dog: Three words from Rigby to Don: "You were born!"
  • Naked on Arrival: Although strictly speaking Mordecai, Rigby and Benson have been naked all along, it's more noticeable in Don's case because he has a muscular humanoid body.
  • Negative Continuity: Even though Muscle Man and HFG are fired after telling another "My Mom" joke (and are absent from the rest of the episode), they are back again next episode with no explanation.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Benson fires Muscle Man and High-Five Ghost for telling another "My Mom", and are absent for the remainder of the episode to focus on the drama that Rigby has with Don.
  • Successful Sibling Syndrome: Rigby is quite jealous of Don since Don is muscular and being an accountant as opposed to Rigby being a park groundskeeper.
  • Worth It:
Muscle Man: I know someone who can help!
Benson: If you say "your mom", you're fired!
    Beat
    Muscle Man: MY MOM!
    Benson: GET OUT!
Muscle Man: It was worth it! *high-fives HFG*
