Mordecai and Rigby are hired to set up chairs for Benson to prove that they can do a job without slacking off, but an old arcade game nearly brings about the end of the world.

This episode provide examples of:

  • Button Mashing: How Rigby plays every arcade game. Mordecai calls him up on it.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Or rather, "Lack of Skill": Rigby sucks at games because all he does is mash buttons, but when applied to using a massive weapon, said tactic proves to be very helpful.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Benson chews out Mordecai and Rigby, he adds that this will be the last time he entrusts then with something important, such as setting up the chairs. The duo celebrate upon hearing his, chanting that they won’t be setting up the chairs next time.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Similar to the pilot and "The Power", this episode is more bouncy and cartoony, with frequent squashes and smears, compared to the rest of the series.
  • Gilligan Cut: When Rigby complains, "Must be nice to be the boss. Benson never has to do chores." It then cuts to Benson driving the children to the Park, stuck in traffic on the highway and getting verbally abused by the birthday boy Jimmy.
  • Ironic Echo Cut: Mordecai and Rigby state it would be more fun to pick up the special entertainment than setting up the chairs. Muscle Man and Hi-Five Ghost find the entertainment to be just an unenthusiastic horse and an alcoholic clown who has a hangover and asking for money to be able to buy more beer.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Rigby activated the Destroyer of Worlds - just cause.
  • Oh, Crap!: Rigby has this reaction when him hitting the Destroyer of Worlds with a stone only makes it MAD.
  • Schmuck Bait: Skips puts a letter inside the "Destroyer of Worlds" arcade machine warning Mordecai & Rigby to not connect the red wire to the blue wire. Guess what Rigby does.
  • Skewed Priorities: The chairs are the plot device that become both the priorities and non-priorities.
    • Rigby (then Mordecai) start slacking off on their jobs on setting up the chairs just to play video games locked away.
    • Mordecai is more concerned about setting up the rest of the chairs instead of protecting himself from the Destroyer of Worlds. This almost gets him killed if it wasn't for Rigby's quick thinking.
