After restoring the data on the Blue Army, the Reds stumble upon incontrovertible evidence that they are merely used as glorified training dummies for the Freelancers. Meanwhile, after arriving on Sidewinder, Tex explains her plans to Church.

• Downer Ending: Sarge goes into a Heroic BSoD and quits after discovering he's a glorified crash test dummy, and Tex shoots Church to use him as bait for Wash and the Meta, going to prepare an ambush for them after giving him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
• Heroic BSoD: After realizing that not only is he considered one of the army's worst soldiers, but that the entire Red and Blue war was merely a farce, Sarge announces that he quits and builds a new Red base out of junk, declaring that if "[he's] the leader of junk, [he] may as well have a base made out of junk!"
• Kick the Dog: Tex shooting Church to use him as bait to draw out Wash and the Meta.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Tex delivers one to Church after shooting him in the leg.
  Tex: I didn't ask to be paired with you. I didn't wanna come back. But now I'm here, so I'm gonna put an end to this.
  Church: Tex, I would have helped you!
  Tex: You can't even help yourself, Church. That's why you made me, to take on all the things you couldn't handle. Just like you always have.
