- Everyone Has Standards: Matthews might be a kiss-ass towards Grif, but when he sees Grif chewing out Bitters and calling him a "lazy, good-for-nothing, dirtbag", he tells Grif to leave him alone.
- What Have I Become?: When Grif calls Bitters a "Dirtbag" for stealing his snack, Grif comes to the horrified realization that the pressures of leadership are making him act like Sarge.
- Wrong-Name Outburst: When Matthews tells Grif to leave Bitters alone, Grif shouts "Shut it Simmons!" at him, and quickly realizes his mistake and how he is starting to sound and act like Sarge.
