- Continuity Nod: When Sarge tries to pull rank on Grif, Grif retorts that he outranks Sarge again, alluding to the time Grif was promoted to sergeant in between Seasons 5 and 6 when Sarge was AWOL.
- I'm Standing Right Here: When the Reds explain they had the teleportation grenades, or "Future Cubes" as they called them, inside the canyon, Sarge says they found them when they snuck onboard the ship one night in an attempt to destroy the Blues. Wash, Tucker, and Caboose all silently turn to Sarge at this, and he quickly amends his statement to "the Blues' robot".
- Mood Whiplash: The tender moment of Wash giving Caboose the data drive with Freckles' mind is broken by Grif loudly arguing with Carolina.
- Not Even Bothering with an Excuse: Rather than stick around and deal with Caboose possibly reacting poorly to the news of Freckles' destruction, the Reds and Tucker bugger off. While Sarge tries to poorly use the excuse of examining the alien rifle, the others can't be bothered to say anything and leave.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: It turns out that the broken technology relics that the Feds and Rebels pay Locus and Felix with are taken by them to be reverse-engineered by the pirates, giving them a series of brand new half-alien and half-human weapons.
