A new kid named Gus arrives at the school and finds himself ostracized.
Tropes:
- Chilly Reception / All of the Other Reindeer: Enforced by King Bob; when he learns that Gus is a new kid, he orders everyone else to simply call him "New Kid." This lasts until Gus stands up for himself and asks for his name back.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Gus' father introduces himself as being in the Marine Corps, even though later episodes would show him as being in the US Army.
- New Kid Stigma: When Gus announces himself as the new kid at 3rd Street School to King Bob, he is declared as such in front of the school. As a result, everyone only ever calls him "New Kid", even the teachers, he's made to sit at the back of the bus, and isn't allowed to take part in team sports. On his third day, everyone decides to turn his situation around and welcome him as Gus... until King Bob shows up, whereupon everyone goes back to calling him "New Kid". It isn't until Gus blows up in front of King Bob and says he wants his name back that King Bob gives it back and he finally gets some respect.
- Stating the Simple Solution: Morris, the last new kid, is upset that Gus got his name back after a few days, while he had to wait for three years. King Bob replies that he should have said something.
- Take That!: Mikey tries to cheer up Gus by mentioning other people without names, like The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, the Unknown Soldier, and the other four guys of The Jackson 5.
