Endless Summer

The gang searches for summer in the middle of winter.
  • Baffled by Own Biology: Carrot catches a cold. As an alien who isn't used to human illnesses, he wonders why he keeps having "face explosions" (read: sneezing strongly enough to send himself flying). He also finds it strange that it's called a cold since he's feeling hot.
  • Beach Bury: A photo on Sunspot's tablet shows Jet being buried in the sand.
  • Brick Joke: In "Holidays in Boxwood Terrace," Mr. Peterson is annoyed at a random kid pitching him a pageant idea involving a surfing Santa Claus. In this episode the kids go to Australia (during the Christmas season) and get to see a real surfing Santa.
  • Call-Back: The episode includes a call-back to "Holidays in Boxwood Terrace," with Sunspot showing images from that episode on his tablet.
  • Illness Blanket: Carrot has a cold and is later wrapped up in a blanket.
  • Inflating Body Gag: The gang does a demonstration to learn about how seasons happen. Sunspot inflates his body to become the Earth.
  • Sick Episode: Carrot has a cold, and has to stay home as a result. Mindy looks after him.
  • Sickness Equals Redness: A sickly Carrot had a red nose.
  • Sneeze of Doom: Carrot's sneezes are practically deadly. He even sneezes on the screen at one point.
  • Soup Is Medicine: Mindy gives Carrot chicken noodle soup to help him feel better.
  • Two Lines, No Waiting: The main characters go to Australia to experience summer, while Mindy stays on Earth to take care of Carrot, who has a cold.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: As you can infer by the title, the episode is an entire reference to The Endless Summer, as both plots involve traveling to the Southern Hemisphere in search of summer.

Jet Shrinks the Kids

Jet, Sean, and Sydney attempt to shrink themselves to Mindy's size.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: At the end of the episode, Mindy uses the shrink ray in reverse to become a giant, and startles Mitchell in the process.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Mindy coos at how cute Jet, Sydney, and Sean are when they shrink.
  • Faint in Shock: After seeing a giant Mindy, Mitchell faints after Mindy returns to her normal size and sneaks up on him.
  • Glasses Pull: When Mitchell sees Giant Mindy, he briefly takes off his glasses to see if his vision is working correctly.
  • Height Angst: Mindy expresses angst about being small, which kickstarts the main plot of the episode.
  • Incredible Shrinking Man: Jet shrinks himself, Sydney, Sean, and Sunspot to become Mindy's size. Things go awry, however, and they become the size of mice. Mindy spends the episode trying to reverse the shrink ray, while Jet, Sydney, Sean, and Sunspot try to evade Mitchell and Cody.
  • It's a Long Story: Sean says this when Mindy asks where he and the others have been.
  • Mobile Shrubbery: Mitchell hides inside a bush and moves around while spying on Team Propulsion.
  • Noodle Incident: Jet once made a hair-braiding machine. It didn't end well for Sean.
  • Shrink Ray: Jet builds a shrink ray so he, Sean, Sydney, and Sunspot can become small like Mindy. It can also be used as a grow ray when reversed.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Mitchell's lines at the end of the episode imply that he doesn't sleep well at night. When he sees Giant Mindy, he wonders if he's not getting enough sleep. Then, when Mindy shrinks back to her normal size and sneaks up on Mitchell, he faints and wonders if he's getting too much sleep.
  • Welcome to My World: When Jet, Sean, and Sydney are shrinking and can't reach the switch of the shrink ray, Mindy says to them: "See what I mean? Welcome to my world!"
  • Your Size May Vary: The show's inconsistent animation gets especially ridiculous in this episode. Sydney can't reach something on a high shelf and gets Sean to help her, even though Sydney is taller than Sean.
