Italian Title: Una questione di gola

Air date: November 14th, 2010

Kate, Magic, and Peter go out to eat lunch at a restaurant. As Peter leaves briefly, both Kate and Magic see Molly, a girl who refuses to eat healthier foods that her parents want her to and prefers to eat sweets. As a Friendship Trail appears, the duo find out that she is the next child to help find a pet for. They head home once Peter returns and a waiter brings their food, which they take home as well.

In the Ever Grey Swamp, as Eva is picking vegetables from her garden, her lackeys approach her to tell her that another pet has appeared on the Friendship Heart: a hamster named Goldie who works as a chef at the Bear Inn. As part of the plan, Eva tells Zull and Gort to start slicing the vegetables and herbs she picked and bring them to the inn.

Kate and Magic return to Pocketville and consult the Pocketpedia at the castle along with the Royal Guards by giving it the information it needs. It turns to a page featuring an image of the Bear Inn, meaning that Kate and her friends have to go to there in order to find the perfect pet to help Molly. As they arrive there, they are greeted by Baldo, the bear who runs the inn. Magic and Danny catch the smell of chocolate, though Baldo proves them wrong by calling for Goldie, who explains to the protagonists that it’s actually fruits and vegetables. She then says that she can convince anyone that healthy foods can be just as delicious as sweets, which reminds Kate of what Molly said about how she can’t help herself but to eat sweets. As Goldie accepts Kate’s offer to go to the Big City to be Molly’s companion and help her eat healthier foods, she proposes a special meal for the friends as a way of saying farewell: her signature soup recipe.

After Goldie leaves her soup to boil, Eva and her lackeys sneak into the kitchen through an open window to add the herbs into the soup without her knowledge. As Kate and her friends are all seated outside the Bear Inn and eating the soup, they all suddenly fall asleep. This gives Eva the perfect opportunity to steal the other half of the Friendship Heart until Goldie suddenly appears, snatching it in her paw before she could get to it and revealing to her that she tasted the soup before she sabotaged it with her sleep-inducing herbs. Goldie runs from Zull and Gort and hides in a crevice at the well with the bracelet until Kate and her friends wake up. Eva and her lackeys flee, and Goldie gives the bracelet back to Kate.

Goldie is sent to Molly through the Friendship Ceremony, and she gets Molly to follow her to a nearby market. She takes a bite out of an apple, much to the dismay of the clerk, but Molly assures him that she’ll pay for it, and takes a bite of it herself. She finds that the apple tastes a lot more delicious than sweets.

The Magic Fountain dries up again after the ceremony, revealing another mosaic of Princess Ava. This prompts Kate and Magic to continue the search for her. Meanwhile in the Big City park, Ava has become so hungry and exhausted that she is almost about to bite into a mushroom until Wallace appears, telling her it’ll make her sick. She then passes out in front of him.
