Tropes:

  • An Arm and a Leg: Abruzzi hacks off T-Bag's left hand both as revenge and to free Michael from the Chained Heat situation T-Bag invoked.
  • Bolivian Army Cliffhanger: Sara is found unconscious from a morphine overdose, and it's left unclear if she'll survive or not. Haywire makes his way into the night on a bicycle. Tweener hides in a horse trailer on its way to St. Louis. Bleeding from his amputated arm, T-Bag stumbles through the woods while holding his severed hand and dogs bark nearby. The other five fugitives miss their flight and make a run for it through a field adjacent as the police are hot on their trail.
  • Chained Heat: Invoked by T-Bag who handcuffs himself to Michael so that Abruzzi can't kill him and have Michael slowed down by having to drag T-Bag's corpse. The others eventually attempt to cut off the chain, but Abruzzi simply hacks off T-Bag's handcuffed hand.
  • Chekhov's Gun: In the previous episode, T-Bag stole a pair of handcuffs from the guard he knocked unconscious. When Abruzzi is about to threaten him with a gun in the car, T-Bag handcuffs himself to Michael to ensure his own survival.

  • Oh, Crap!: T-Bag when he sees Abruzzi approaching him with an axe in his hands.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: Michael orders Tweener to leave their group and escape on his own for snitching them to Bellick.
  • Sequel Hook: Scofield informs the escapees to run as their escape plane leaves them.
  • Swallow the Key: T-Bag does this with the key of the handcuffs binding him to Michael.
