The team finds themselves facing the worst when a Tyrannosaurus comes through an anomaly and has its rampage caught on the news. But this proves to be the least of their problems when Convergence finally commences.
- Brick Joke: At the beginning of Season 4, Matt told Becker that the EMDs could take down a fully grown T. rex. He finally gets to prove it in this episode. Becker takes by his skepticism.
- Broken Masquerade: Suffice to say, a Tyrannosaurus rex rampaging through a shopping center and being caught on television while doing so is going to make keeping the anomalies a secret incredibly hard. Then Convergence happens and the Masquerade fully goes out the window.
- Continuity Cavalcade: Creatures from all across the series make surprise reappearances when convergence happens, including:
- Anurognathus from Season 1.
- The Precambrian Worm and Columbian Mammoth from Season 2.
- The Spinosaurus, Tree Creeper, and Kaprosuchus from Season 4.
- Hidden Depths: Lester surprises Jess by willingly choosing to help her direct the teams once Convergence begins to overwhelm her, and later manages to inflict a Curb-Stomp Battle on a tree creeper when it
decides to mess with his new Jaguar. - Informed Attribute: Not anymore - Matt finally gets the chance to use an EMD against a fully grown T. rex, and indeed proves they can take down a tyrannosaur.
- Nothing Is the Same Anymore: The rex being caught on live television and the beginning of Convergence effectively mean that any attempts to coverup the anomalies are no longer going to be effective.
- Wham Shot: Three pretty big ones.
- The first is at the beginning of the episode, where a crowd is running from some creature. Then we finally get to see what said creature is, and find out it is a Tyrannosaurus rex.
- The second is also a shot of the rex, except this time, it's on the news.
- The third doubles as a Cliffhanger. Connor, while trying to stop the New Dawn anomaly from expanding, gets sucked into it.
