While Leek makes his move, Lester's worse nightmare comes true when a Mammoth comes through an anomaly on a crowded highway.
- Big Damn Heroes: The mammoth gets to do this when Lester unlocks its cage, goring the future predator on its tusks before it can kill him.
- Berserk Button: Stephen pushes Cutter’s when he brings up his affair with Helen. Cutter responds by punching him do hard he gets a black eye.
- Defiant to the End: Lester, trapped in the ARC with a future predator programmed by Leek to kill him, refuses to give the little worm any satisfaction.Lester: Leek! You're not going to make me beg for my life, so let's just end it now!Leek: Oh, alright, if you insist. Goodbye, James.Lester: Oh, and one more thing...Leek: Yes?Lester: You really are a tiresome little man.
- Herbivores Are Friendly: Averted with extreme prejudice: the mammoth may be an herbivore, but it is both scared and very pissed off and utterly wrecks the highway it is on, and kills at least one person.
- I Owe You My Life: Referenced: having initially been dismissive of the mammoth, Lester takes something of a liking to it after it saves him from a future predator, to the point of jokingly suggesting he'd be willing to adopt it.Lester: [about the mammoth to Cutter] You know, my kids have really been pestering me for a pet. If you can't find a home for him...
- Intrepid Reporter: Mick Harper, a journalist who's determined to get to the bottom of what the team are hiding.Mick Harper: I've seen the photos. That thing, it was too big to be an elephant.Jenny Lewis: You know, you're right. It's actually a mammoth.Mick Harper: I can do without the sarcasm.Jenny Lewis: Then stop asking stupid questions!Mick Harper: There's something going on here, and one way or another, I've gonna find out what it is.
- More Dakka: The first thing Lester does upon being attacked by a future predator? Head to the ARC's armoury, load up with the biggest gun he can find and let the beast have it.
- Slasher Smile: Helen gives one to a horrified Nick when it's revealed she and Leek are working together.
- Oh, Crap!: Lester's reaction to learning that the anomaly has opened on a very crowed highway, as it is the worst case scenario for the team (it's a large, dangerous animal ending up in an area with many innocents bystanders, and the mammoth is NOT friendly at all).
- Also Lester's reaction when he discovers Leek has gone rogue and locked him in the ARC with a future predator on the loose.
- Cutter's reaction to finding out Helen and Leek are working together, and they've got a facility full of creatures that have come through anomalies.

- Wham Shot: After leads captures the team, he leaves them trapped in a laser surrounded pen. The lights then come on.....revealing they are in a room filled with similar pens containing a hoard of creatures from all of the anomalies they've dealt with.
