Cutter returns from the Permian to find there have been huge changes in the timeline. Claudia Brown has never existed and the team have their own headquarters: the ARC (Anomaly Research Centre). Still reeling from this (and the news of Stephen and Helen's affair) Cutter has to lead a mission to deal with a raptor invasion of a shopping mall. Along the way, he learns something which could help them in their fight against the anomalies.

  • Behind a Stick: The first raptor encountered by Connor and Abby was somehow hidden entirely behind a roughly three-foot-wide post that was less than ten feet away from them. May also count as Behind the Black, as they somehow didn't see or hear the raptor until it knocked over a candy machine.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: Connor trying to apologise for shooting Abby with a tranquilizer dart.
  • Epic Fail: Connor, while trying to tranquilize a baby Raptor, misses the dinosaur and shoots Abby in the leg.
  • Foreshadowing: This line from Cutter to Stephen: "You think I would just have stood by and watched you get torn to pieces?"
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: The baby raptor gets eaten by an adult.
  • Portal Cut: The male Raptor is killed when the Anomaly closes on it with its body on the Cretaceous side and its head on the present side.
  • Raptor Attack: Featherless, mindless aggressive and oversized Raptors.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Oliver Leek, who runs the day-to-day operations at the ARC. Justified, thanks to the Cosmic Retcon.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Cutter insists on this, though it's more to preserve the timeline than out of sympathy for the raptors.
  • Upsetting the Balance: Cutter is convinced that the alternate timeline where Claudia is Ret-Gone came about because the team weren't careful enough about keeping history intact when it came to avoiding killing the creatures and returning them to their native time periods, and throughout the episode he's determined to try and get all the Raptors back through the Anomaly alive despite how exceptionally dangerous they are. It's gone by the next episode however, where Cutter has no problem wiping out dozens of creatures that come from an even earlier ancestral time period.
