While the team handles the aftermath of the previous chapter, Nigel joins forces with Jeremy Wade to rescue a prehistoric river monster.
- Crossover: With River Monsters - Nigel teams up with Jeremy Wade to rescue the prehistoric fish Rhizodus (which Jeremy Wade himself referred to as the ultimate river monster).
- Mythology Gag: One for River Monsters - the target of the mission is Rhizodus, which Jeremy Wade had previously referred to as the ultimate river monster within the series.
- No Name Given: The species of amphibian that bursts out of the water and surprises Wade is never specified, which is notable given that the author normally does name which species does what at the park. Given it's size, though, it's either an Eryops or an Anaschisma (though at the time it was rescued, it would have been named Koskinodon).
- Revisiting the Roots: This chapter is much closer in format to the first six chapters of the story (and, by extension, the six episodes of the original series), with Nigel and at most one guest star going back to the past to rescue an extinct creature, while the remainder of the human staff stay at the park and handle problems there.
