Tropes

  • Adaptational Villainy: In Chouriki Sentai Ohranger, Leaky Faucet's Super Sentai counterpart, Bara Faucet, was sent to distribute a diet drink that would turn its drinkers into ravenous, mindless eaters. As bad as that is, Leaky Faucet polluting the world's water with toxic oil is much more dangerous.
  • Ascended Extra: Leaky Faucet was originally one of the monsters to appear in "Invasion of the Ranger Snatchers". Here, he gets an episode of his own. This also applies to his Super Sentai counterpart.
  • Green Aesop: The episode has a very subtle environmental message about water pollution.
  • Never Say "Die": As per usual in Power Rangers. How Billy describes the toxicity of the Cog oil.
Billy: If it gets on anybody, or worse yet if anybody drinks it, the results are gonna be disastrous.
  • No Ontological Inertia: As with other cases, Leaky Faucet's destruction returns all the water he polluted to normal.
  • Signature Scent: The Cog oil. It helps the Rangers catch on to the Machine Empire's plan in time.
  • Tube Travel: Leaky Faucet gets around and contaminates Angel Grove's water by traversing the waterworks. The rangers manage to flush him out by closing off the pipes he's traveling through.
  • Water Source Tampering: Leaky Faucet's mission was to transform all of earth's water into toxic cog oil in order to wipe out all organic life on earth while at the same time, giving the Machine Empire something to swim in.
  • Worth It: While Katherine didn't win her surfing competition, she considers it's more important that the earth still has clear water.
