Carlos turns into a vampire; the Rangers need to combine the Megazords to defeat Count Nocturne.
Tropes
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: The last appearance of Mr. Caplan before he was retired from the show.
- Foreshadowing: Unintentional example, but Carlos' wearing mostly black during his vampire stint seems a lot more meaningful when his suit color changes next season.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Count Nocturne basically turns Carlos into a traditional vampire, with fangs, a thirst for blood, no reflection and a sensitivity to bright light, but the other Rangers realise what happened in time to give him a treatment that slows the infection until they can defeat the Count and cure Carlos.
- The Reveal: Bulk & Skull indeed graduated, despite missing the ceremony (due to being turned into chimps). Though Mr. Caplan gave them detention anyway, for sneaking around the school.
- Unfinished, Untested, Used Anyway: After Nocturne damages half of the Rangers' current zords, they're forced to use the never-before-seen Rescue Turbo Megazord- the Red Lightning and Mountain Blaster Turbozords combined with the Thunder Loader, Star Chaser and Wind Rescue Rescuezords- to defeat the monster.
