- Berserk Button: Syd may have problems getting along with RIC, but damaging him is not something you would wanna do in front of her as the Krybots learned it the hard way.
- Determinator: Syd after putting her faith in RIC.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Cruger tells Syd that RIC's technology is practically obsolete, and that he will soon have to be deactivated, using the same tones one would use when talking of an elderly dog who will soon have to be put to sleep.
- Kick the Dog: Syd figuratively does this to RIC when the squad is told that he will soon be deactivated. The rest of the squad are bummed to hear it.
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: Syd is on full display with this trope in this episode.
- Monster of the Week: Rhinix.
- No Honor Among Thieves: Rhinix after getting a formula from Piggy, immediately uses it to turn him into green slime. Fortunately for Piggy, he gave Rhinix a fake formula which transforms him into slime but quickly reverts back to normal. Which forces Rhinix to bribe and spare him in exchange of the real formula.
- No Ontological Inertia: The Monster of the Week turns people into green slime. After he is captured all of his victims turn back into people.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Sydney "I-Need-Time-To-Get-My-Nails-Done-And-To-Work-On-My-Tan" Drew, who not 2 scenes before was ridiculing RIC for being a piece of junk, is the first to take a shovel to the location of Rhinix's slime prison that RIC pointed out, spending hours digging in the dirt and the rain in order to get to it. The look on the rest of B-Squad's faces says it all.
- Power Source: Rhinix turns humans into slime to be used as this.
- Properly Paranoid: Piggy gave Rhinix a fake formula which turns people into slime for only a few seconds, rightfully suspecting the latter might use it on him. And only after being bribed with rotten eggs and the promise of not being turned into slime again. Piggy agrees to give Rhinix the real formula.
- Taking the Bullet: RIC jumps in front of a Krybot laser blast to protect Syd, and is badly damaged in the process. This causes Sad to change her opinion of him, and she promptly goes out of her way to see that he is revived.
- Terrible Interviewees Montage: Grumm goes through one including
a guy that looks like Deviot who intends to turn everyone into cabbages - Took a Level in Badass: After being rebuilt, RIC becomes significantly more competent, his chief highlight being his Canine Cannon mode. Boom and Bridge have given RIC "mad new skills", such as a refrigerator and a DVD player. Cruger points out that while these "amusing new additions" would surely make RIC helpful at a party, they don't make him an SPD necessity. Boom and Bridge then add that they've enhanced his surveillance, weapons, and tracking systems.
- Took a Level in Kindness: Syd as a result of RIC Taking the Bullet for her.
- Verbal Tic: This is the episode that introduces the gag of Bridge’s fingers waving whenever he says the word “buttery.”
