- Arms Dealer: Broodwing, of course, which means he's quite displeased when Grumm tells him to provide Mysticon with a robot for free. When Broodwing protests, Grumm says he's sick of paying for robots that always fail.
- Bad Boss: Grumm threatens to vaporize Mysticon for trying to back out. Grumm also won't hear of Broodwing protesting having to provide a free robot, using Red Eyes, Take Warning to demonstrate why he'd better shut up.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Syd.
- Broken Record: Syd's hit single Me gets to the point of just repeating that word over and over again.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: During interrogation, Al finally cracks after being exposed to Bridge's Talkative Looniness and Syd's hit single Me (Z: "Because it's all about her"). And it was
hilarious. - Deal with the Devil: Morgana offers Mysticon a legit magic wand that will turn his miserable act around and make it easier to steal goods. Mysticon recognizes that no one just gives something so valuable away for free, but he can't resist the offer. He is soon conscripted into helping with Grumm's latest attack on Earth and told the only other option is being vaporized.
- Epic Fail: Mysticon's sidestreet attempt at the classic disappearing trick. The curtain falls down immediately, exposing Al's attempt to sneak out the back.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Between Sam's skills and Doggie presumably showing him favoritism, the main five are feeling put out and itching to prove themselves.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: Mysticon initially refuses working for Grumm, feeling the magic wand protects him from any threats. Grumm quickly demonstrates that he carries a far bigger blaster.
- Lovely Assistant: With Al in custody, Mysticon puts up an audition sign. To get inside, Syd poses as someone simply auditioning for the job. Mysticon happily hires her, only for Morgana to spill the beans right away and suggest hypnotizing her into submission.
- Produce Pelting: Mysticon's sidestreet act had been going so badly that people were throwing tomatoes when we first see him.
- Villainous Breakdown:
- Played for laughs when Al cracks after having to listen to Bridge drone on and on for an unspecified amount of time.
- Played more seriously in the last scene, as Broodwing vents about the Rangers destroying a robot that he didn't get paid for.
- Villainous Vow: Broodwing promises to make the Rangers suffer for destroying a very expensive robot that Grumm didn't pay for.
- What the Hell, Hero?: In the last scene, Doggie chews out the main five for defying his orders in a misguided attempt to prove themselves. He admits he has been showing Sam some extra favoritism lately, but only because of Sam's unique situation and how he thought the main five would be mature enough to understand that.Doggie: Was I mistaken?!
Bridge: No, sir. We were just a little—
Z: Jealous.
Doggie: There's no room for jealousy here! You are my Rangers! You are my team. You'll just have to trust that. Trust in yourselves. Understood?! - Women Are Wiser: After being told Syd was an undercover officer, Mysticon was going to simply fire her. Morgana told him to hypnotize her instead.
