The son of Rita and Zedd unties the Rangers’ enemies to finally defeat them. Soon enough, the Rangers are cornered, requiring assistance from the Sentinel Knight.
Tropes
- Avenging the Villain: Thrax, avenging parents Rita and Zedd.
- Who are, notably, not actually dead, per se. But they pulled a Heel–Face Turn and he didn't, so they're dead to him.
- Well, their Heel–Face Turn was forced onto them by Zordon's good energy. So, technically, the good guys "killed" who they once were, and what they were clearly like when Thrax was born, given his appearance.
- Who are, notably, not actually dead, per se. But they pulled a Heel–Face Turn and he didn't, so they're dead to him.
- Badass Normal: Lampshaded by Adam, as the only Ranger without a civilian superpower.
- Big Damn Heroes: The old rangers when the current rangers lose their powers. They forced the baddies to retreat in less than 2 minutes!
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Bridge, when he mentions that the S.P.D. Rangers were mentored by a dog, and that his superior was a bird. Only Dax thinks it makes sense.
- The Cuckoolander Was Right: Of course, the audience only knows the explanation was entirely accurate because we watched Power Rangers S.P.D..
- Despair Event Horizon: The Rangers themselves, after Thrax cuts them off from the Morphing Grid. Seemingly subverted when they're reminded that they still have their genetic powers to fight, but fall into this when they prove to be ineffective.
- Enfante Terrible: Thrax, who is quite the evil mastermind for someone whose age is possibly between seven and nine.
- Five-Man Band: The Veteran Rangers.
- Intra-Franchise Crossover: The second in the series after Forever Red.
- Legion of Doom: Thrax, son of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, unites the four villain factions.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Thrax, the son of Rita and Zedd, repeats the same line his mother made when released from a Space Dumpster, after what could not have been more than two or three years.
- Sidelined Protagonist Crossover: There is no returning Ranger who is a Red during the airing of their season. The only Red Ranger they have in their temporary team, Bridge, began as a Green Ranger in his original series(but later became a Blue Ranger) and has since been promoted to B-Squad's team leader offscreen. Adam as the MMPR Black Ranger leads them, however, because of his seniority.
- Super-Empowering: The Sentinel Knight can apparently do this, since he restores the veteran Ranger's powers (except Bridge, who never lost his Ranger powers).
- Time Travel: The Sentinel Knight can apparently do this too, since he brings Bridge to the present from an unspecified point in the future (though obviously after the events of Power Rangers S.P.D., since he's been promoted to Red Ranger).
- 10-Minute Retirement: The Rangers, ALL of them, after fully reaching their Despair Event Horizon (having to be saved by veteran Rangers) decide to go back to their lives (save for Mack).
- Villain Team-Up: The four villain factions form an alliance under Thrax, proving to be more than a match for the Rangers.
