  • As You Know: Itassis talks to Hekatoid about the Rules of Darkness and the selection, as well as how breaking these rules can possibly impede the Master's return. Justified because she's Perp Sweating him to confirm her suspicions about Serpentina.
  • Big "NO!": Leelee when reading what the book says about her future.
  • Blood Knight:
    • Megahorn is pissed to once again be passed over in the selection ceremony.
    • With Leanbow preventing the Master from rising and in hiding, Sculpin admits this will be a fun challenge.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: The bickering stems from who gets to use the store's equipment. Nick is right that it's the store's equipment, not Vida's personal property, so any employee should be free to use it if they want. Vida is right that she's the one who maintains the equipment and thus knows what's good for it and what's not. It's part of why Toby prefers not to take a side.
  • Brought Down to Normal: In order to make her upcoming fight easier, Serpentina uses Hekatoid to prevent the Rangers from morphing. He manages to get Nick and Vida with his slime, but he's called away before he can get the others. In a variant, the slime doesn't immediately cause Nick and Vida to de-morph; it just keeps them from morphing again later.
  • Continuity Nod: After Jenji is turned to stone, Madison remarks she knows the feeling.
  • Dirty Coward: Hekatoid really doesn't want to go fight, and he's easily intimidated by Serpentina. He also runs when Itassis questions him about what he did on the surface.
  • Dying Curse: Before she explodes, Serpentina vows that Megahorn will avenge her.
  • Exact Words: Serpentina didn't break any rules; she just got Hekatoid to do it.
  • Feud Episode: Nick and Vida really go at it after the former tries using the latter's equipment. Toby even has to kick them out of the store until they work it out. They work things out while left behind, but (naturally) start arguing over who's more sorry about all this.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Madison reflects on how they've gone to yet another strange new dimension.
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: Searching the snake dimension for their foe, Daggeron has Chip come with him, while Madison and Xander head off in the other direction.
  • Not So Above It All: Though she sincerely tried to get the fighting to stop, Madison is willing to take advantage of Nick and Vida leaving the store so she can use the equipment for a change.
  • Parental Neglect: Leelee observes her own mother doesn't even seem to be aware she's still alive.
  • Perp Sweating: Itassis confronts Hekatoid about the situation and makes it clear that those who break the rules are severely punished. Hekatoid immediately caves and says it was all Serpentina's idea before running away.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Just as Serpentina is about to devour Nick and Vida, Itassis interrupts the attack and removes Hekatoid's slime. As she says, Serpentina broke the Rules of Darkness, so this is just making it fair.
  • Properly Paranoid:
    • Itassis knows Serpentina has been up to something foul and that Hekatoid helped her.
    • With no sign of the Master anywhere, Sculpin suspects someone is deliberately keeping him bottled up.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: In the last scene, Leelee reflects on how the Rangers hate her.
  • The Reveal: Sculpin's efforts to learn what has become of the Master reveals that Leanbow (wearing the armor of Koragg) is keeping the Big Bad under wraps.
  • Swallowed Whole: What Serpentina does to her prey.
  • Taken for Granite: Serpentina releases her snakes into the city to bite people. Once she activates her shield, all those bitten will turn to stone. Jenji suffers this early on, though he's returned to normal after Serpentina's destroyed.
  • This Cannot Be!: Leelee's reaction when the Book of Prophecies say she'll become Queen of the Vampires.
  • Villainous Rescue: Itassis saves Nick and Vida from Serpentina to make things fair and within the rules.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: Thanks to the book, Serpentina learns she will be chosen to fight next and be destroyed. She aims to change her supposed destiny and ultimately comes up short.
