Tropes

  • An Aesop: Several. Refrain from taking shortcuts, own up to your mistakes, and whatever situation you're in, do your best. The members of the Tribunal of Magic even seem to learn one themselves, about the importance of judging good and evil. They make the Rangers powerful enough to defeat Fightoe and 50 Below, after the Rangers own up to their mistake of trying to take the easy way out by using Jenji. Earlier, the Red Tribunal had stated, "We do not judge good or evil magic; we just ensure that there is magic".
  • Big "NO!": Necrolai after the wish is reversed and again after the Rangers get ready to morph.
  • Bring It: Necrolai to the restored Rangers.
  • He's Back!: "I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling the magic."
  • It's All My Fault: Jenji blames himself for the wish and apologizes, but Madison reminds him he had no choice. Later, during the re-match with the Barbarian Beasts, the Rangers finally recognize it was their desire for an easy way out that caused this mess and own up to it, even acknowledging that's what they were too stubborn to admit to the Tribunal.
  • Jackass Genie: Invoked. Jenji tells Leelee he'll grant her a wish if she rubs the lamp he's been imprisoned in. He tricks her into Wasteful Wishing and openly laughs about it before teleporting out.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Jenji questions how Koragg is helping the Rangers.
  • Noble Demon: The Tribunal members observe that Koragg is evil but honorable, whereas the Barbarian Beasts are irredeemable.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Koragg reserves the right to take down 50 Below.
  • Secret Test of Character: The Tribunal of Magic sets two of them before the Rangers; one is if they're brave enough to fight without their magic and the other is a...
  • Spoiler Opening: The new opening credits reveal several things that are introduced in this episode, including the new Super Mode and the associated Megazord.
  • This Cannot Be!: Imperious' reaction to seeing the wish has been undone and the Rangers have their powers back. Apparently, he did not know about the Tribunal and their ability to reverse Jenji's wishes, so this caught him completely flat-footed.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone:
    • It's seeing Toby getting roughed up by Necrolai and others that convinces the Rangers to try fighting without their magic.
    • Black is annoyed when the Rangers haven't yet learned their lesson, but he does admit they're brave to fight without their magic and agrees to join the others in reversing the wish.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Implied with the Black Tribunal, whom the Red and White Tribunals hint to be related to Necrolai.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Jenji cons Leelee into letting him out of the lamp so he can get back to Rootcore.
  • Villainous Rescue: 50 Below is about to finish Daggeron when Koragg suddenly shows up.
  • Wasteful Wishing: When Jenji observes she shouldn't bite her fingernails, Leelee casually remarks she wishes she had never started that habit. It's all the excuse Jenji needs.
  • We Will Meet Again: When it's all over, Koragg tells the Rangers their alliance is over and that he will eventually defeat them.
