- Fire-Forged Friends: Leo and Kai become this by the end.
- It's All My Fault: Kai blames himself for Leo being captured because of the latter's determination to protect his Quasar Saber from Furio, which Kai believes was motivated by him chewing Leo out earlier over failing to secure Terra Venture's weapons. Kendrix assures him it's not.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Happens when Horn, outraged at Furio's command to melt down the Quasar Sabers under Scorpius's orders, tries using the Sabers against him. With one of Furio's beams getting deflected by the Saber and freeing Leo in the process.
- Shut Up, Hannibal!:Furio: Hand over that Quasar Saber! It wasn't meant for you!
Leo: That may be true, but it wasn't meant for you, either! - Stock Footage: This episode features the Zyuranger footage of a looming thunderstorm, not seen since "The Mutiny, Part 1".
- The Unchosen One: Leo struggles with being someone who was merely handed a Quasar Saber by the one who was actually chosen to pull it free. He wants to honor Mike's memory but fears he'll never be as good as him.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Kai rightfully chews Leo out for forgetting to lock up the Weapons Dome and leaving all of Terra Venture's weapons easy pickings for Horn.
