Astronema is back with the Quasar Saber, or is she?
Kendrix comes to Maya in a dream and tasks her with recovering the Pink Quasar Saber— but Karone is already one step ahead of her, and proves herself worthy of becoming the new Pink Ranger.Tropes in this episode include:
- The Atoner: Karone says she went looking for Kendrix's Quasar Saber to make up for her actions as Astronema.
- Bar Brawl: Karone starts one while pretending to be Astronema thanks to Trakeena exposing her identity.
- Big Damn Heroes:
- By the second half of the episode, Kendrix's spirit saves Karone from falling off of the cliff and gives her the Transmorpher.
- Karone herself saves the others Rangers after she becomes the Pink Quasar Saber's rightful owner and finally transforms into the second Pink Galaxy Ranger.
- The Bus Came Back: Karone finally comes back into the fold as a major character and this time, she becomes the Pink Galaxy Ranger.
- The Cameo: Two Piranhatrons appear in the Onyx tavern, and Soccadillo was among the patrons during the auction.
- Discontinuity Nod: In Trakeena’s own words: “Astronema betrayed the darkness and became good.” Depending on the context, it seems as if the fight between Karone and Andros, as depicted in Countdown to Destruction Part II, had never taken place.
- This makes sense in context though, considering Astronema *did* turn good, and when she was recaptured with the red wig, she got the implant on her head.
- Dream Tells You to Wake Up: Kendrix appears in Maya's dream warning her that her Pink Quasar Saber fell in the wrong hands and asks her to retrieve it before vanishing, which wakes Maya up.
- Dressing as the Enemy: Karone once again poses as Astronema from the previous season to steal the Quasar Saber. Her cover is blown when Trakeena reveals her identity.
- Epic Fail:Damon: Call the Galactabeasts, Karone. You can do it.
Karone: [jumping and waving] Galactabeasts, over here! - Evolving Credits: Played with. While Melody Perkins was added to the intro, Valerie Vernon remained as well, so she could continue to earn a check during treatment.
- Hairstyle Malfunction: Astronema while dodging an attack from Villamax, leans back making her black wig fall off, and revealing her natural blonde hair, confirming she's indeed Karone in disguise.
- Literal Cliffhanger: When Trakeena battles with Karone, she makes the latter fall off a nearby cliff. Although she grabs onto the cliff's face, she falls again seconds later only to be rescued by Kendrix's spirit.
- Oh, Crap!: Karone in her Astronema disguise when she realizes that Trakeena has tracked her down and blown her cover.
- Wham Episode: Karone becomes the new Pink Galaxy Ranger.
- Whammy Bid: When the villains auction off the Pink Ranger's quasar saber, Astronema announces her presence this way by bidding one million Zanabatars. Except that Astronema is actually Karone in disguise.
