Zhane finds out that he can only morph for a limited time and must find a way to recharge them. However, the other Rangers mistakenly believe that he is dying. Astronema brings in a new monster to take advantage of his limited morphing time.

- Bloodless Carnage: When Praying Mantis' bomb clamps onto Zhane (while morphed) and finishes its countdown (synchronized to detonate when Zhane de-morphs), Zhane seemingly, but graphically, explodes into dust.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Grousing about his limited morphing ability, Zhane gets the idea to look for a lightning storm.
- Godzilla Threshold: Alpha warns that Zhane's lightning gambit is too dangerous, but Zhane says it's the only way he can help the others against Praying Mantis.
- Heartbroken Badass: When Zhane is presumably killed in the explosion, Andros drops to his knees in shock.
- Hour of Power: Zhane discovers he can only morph for two and a half minutes at a time.
- Laser-Guided Karma: When Zhane discovers the other rangers are under the false assumption that he is dying, he decides to milk it for what it’s worth and take advantage of their sympathy. After Alpha reveals the truth to them, they punish Zhane by making him clean the Megaship top from bottom.
