- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Though Zeltrax initially only plans to use Golden Rod as his newest attempt to destroy Tommy Oliver, he quickly grows attached to him and starts to view him as his son, just as Golden Rod saw Zeltrax as his father. When Tommy destroys Golden Rod, it only increases Zeltrax's desire for revenge against him.Zeltrax: He was my only family!.
- Foreshadowing: At the end of the episode, Trent finds an invisiportal in his father's office which sends him to Cyberspace.
- Heroic Bystander: Trent, although he's defeated, tries to save Tommy by fighting Goldenrod himself, when he starts attacking the latter.
- I Never Told You My Name: Kira in her morphed form asks Trent if he's ok after being attacked by Goldenrod, and calls him by his name. Which surprised Trent and asked her how did she know his name, to which Kira was unable to answer.
- The Reveal: Trent reveals to Tommy that Anton Mercer is his adoptive father; Mercer adopted Trent after his biological parents died in a cave-in during a dig.
