Ce sixième tome des formidables aventures de Lapinot réjouira les amateurs de gens qui se parlent, de gens qui discutent, de gens qui blablatent et de voitures rouges.
(This sixth volume of the spiffy adventures of McConey will delight those who like people who talk to each other, people who chat, people who jibber-jabber and red cars.)

Pour de vrai is a 1999 comic book by Lewis Trondheim. It is the sixth album of The Spiffy Adventures of McConey series. Lapinot and her girlfriend Nadia stay at Nadia's uncle castle in the country. Nadia is looking for interesting subjects for a TV show.

Pour de vrai provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Analogy Backfire: Nadia tells Lapinot that jokes are a reflection of what you actually think and Lapinot answers that reflections are always inverted.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The fact that the spirits' voices give the lottery numbers is briefly mentioned by Nadia and her uncle. In the end, Richard and Félix use the numbers and get cursed.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: At first, Jean-Benoît Grisemine is just one of the many people Nadia interviewed. Then Lapinot meets him. In the end, he kills a far-right politician.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: André Sipretto who pretends to have seen UFO's and a mysterious creature emerging from the earth.
  • Creepy Changing Painting: The paintings often change in the castle of Nadia's uncle. Lapinot is surprised when he notices it.
  • Crying Wolf: Richard and his friends always make jokes, so nobody believe them when they are cursed and ask for help.
  • Deal with the Devil: If you use the lottery numbers given by the spirits, you will get cursed.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Benny Bunny for Lapinot and Nana Nounou for Nadia.
  • The Faceless: The guy who comes to the castle to give an appointment to Nadia and Lapinot. He is actually the nephew of André Sipretto.
  • Haunted Castle: In the castle of Nadia's uncle, the paintings are changing, objects are moving, voices give the lottery numbers...
  • Occult Detective: Deconstructed. Nadia investigates paranormal cases, but the TV production company she works for is only interested in ridiculing Cloudcuckoolanders.
  • Paranormal Investigation: Nadia investigates paranormal cases, like André Sipretto who pretends to have seen a mysterious creature emerging from the earth.
  • The Precious, Precious Car: Richard has bought a car and he is very careful with it. In the end, Lapinot has to break a window to stop the curse.
  • Smart People Play Chess: Lapinot and Pierrot play chess.
