Postman Pat's Thirsty Day is the seventh episode of Postman Pat.
It's very hot and dry in Greendale today. When the water gets shut off, the villagers work together to help Ted Glen fix the old pump.
Tropes:
- Continuity Nod: Granny Dryden's parcel is a watch she ordered from the catalogue she got in the previous episode.
- Heat Wave: Greendale is in the middle of one, and it's gotten so dry, the lake's run low, and the water has to be shut off.
- Job Song: The episode features a song about Ted Glen's work as a repairman. (He'll just say "Leave it with me!")
- Limited Wardrobe: Despite the hot weather, characters are still wearing their usual, long-sleeved outfits.
- Slapstick: Once the pump is fixed, Jess sticks his head into the bucket and gets water pumped onto his head.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Granny Dryden only appears for a minute at the beginning and at the end, but her suggestion to mend the village pump is what sets the plot in motion.
