Recap / Pokemon S 8 E 12 Claydol Big And Tall

Go To

Tropes:

  • Ambiguous Situation: In-universe example as the gang wonders whether or not the giant Claydol was even a real Pokemon.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: A gigantic Claydol serves as the Monster of the Week.
  • Epic Fail: Team Rocket really think that their balloon can carry a giant Pokéball made out of solid rock, and later with the Claydol itself.
    • Sigourney really screws up while interpreting the tales.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Once awake, the Claydol starts destroying everything in its path. It would have been quite a bleak episode, if it weren't for the lengths Ash and friends go through trying to stop it.
  • Unreliable Expositor: The whole gang really have good reason to doubt all the tales that Sigourney relates about the giant Claydol.
  • Visual Pun: Izabe Lake splits open at the middle to release the Claydol. Not unlike an actual Pokéball, considering Izabe Lake has a near-perfect round shape.
