This Corsola has a little too much energy.

After after arriving on Yellow Rock Isle, Psyduck alerts Ash and friends of a young girl and a Corsola in trouble, stuck on a floating house being pulled into a whirlpool. After rescuing the pair, her sister and father explain that they built their house above a Corsola nesting ground and live mutually with the Corsola (with the family care for the Pokemon while the Corsola gives them their shedded Corsola horns so that the father can create various trinkets to sell), but the Corsola left after a new, energetic Corsola appeared and kept Tackling the others in excitement, which caused the foundation to weaken and for the house to drift away. Ash and friends decide to help the family reclaim the other Corsola, with Misty wanting to catch one for herself.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • All of the Other Reindeer: All of the other Corsola don't like the energetic one as its idea of affection is to Tackle the others, causing the others to run away in fear.
  • Damsel in Distress: Mika, the younger sister, is stranded on her family's floating house and (along with the energetic Corsola) is in danger of being sucked inside a whirlpool.
  • Getting Crap Past the Radar: Misty's latest zinger while pulling Brock by the ear.
    • "Okay. But now it's time to get your aspirations out of here."
  • Healing Factor: The energetic Corsola knows the move Recover, which helps it fight against Team Rocket but makes it harder for Misty to catch it.
  • Keet: The Corsola with Mika is so hyper and happygoing that it keeps Tackling other Pokemon to show its affection.
  • Running Gag:
    • Not only does Misty pull Brock on the ear after he goes gaga over the older sister, Andrea, but Brock turns the tables and pulls Misty away as she tries to catch a Corsola when they're supposed to help the family first.
    • This episode starts the gag of Team Rocket fantasizing of Giovanni thanking Team Rocket for capturing the Pokemon of the Day and (somehow) improving his life.
