Tropes

  • Drives Like Crazy: Togepi and Sentret.
  • Enemy Mine: Team Rocket explicitly joins forces with their nemeses in trying to stop the Arbo-Tank.
  • Humongous Mecha: The Arbo-Tank, which is somehow a lot more formidable at the hands of two baby Pokémon than with Team Rocket.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When the Arbo-Tank is about to blow up, Jessie and James are well aware of how this always happens to their Humongous Mechas and try to save it, but to no avail.
  • Load-Bearing Hero: Ash sends Charizard in to halt the Arbo-Tank in its tracks.
  • Maneki Neko: Team Rocket uses a Meowth version as a piggy bank.
  • No Sympathy: Ash and the other aren't really bothered by the fact that Team Rocket invested all their savings in the Arbo-Tank, even refusing to pay them back afterwards when they intend to destroy it.
  • Oh, Crap!: Jessie and James' reaction upon hearing that the twerps plan to destroy the Arbo-Tank.
Jessie: You can't be serious! Do have any idea how much that thing cost us?!
James: You're gonna pay if you destroy that tank, missy!
Misty: (Demon Head) NO, WE'RE NOT, AND THE NAME IS MISTY!
    James: (Meekly) Oh, sorry.
    • They're like this again when they realize the Arbo-Tank is going to explode.
  • Pre-Explosion Glow: Happens when the Arbo-Tank blows up (and Jessie and James fail to prevent it from doing so.)
